Any of you goobers have a yard sweeper? The mower will not bag it without getting clogged so what I end up having to do is cut the yard without a bag and the next day after the clippings are dry go over it again with the bagger that sometimes still gets clogged. I'm wondering how well the yard sweepers work or if I'll be wasting 300 bucks on something. If it doesn't rain for a week then it's possible for me to bag the front yard in one go round but the back yard stays damp. Lot's of ground water with the pond back there.

Reviews say go with the Agri Fab. Well, it's the most popular anyway.

Never used one of them before. Do they actually work?

Unusually just go over it again and cut it smaller to get rid of it.

Or use one of these archaic things.

I dunno if they do or not. If I used an actual archaic rake on 2 acres I wouldn't finish before I had to mow again haha!

Bagging the front yard alone yields me about 8-10, 30 gallon trash bags of clippings.

Got tired of buying bags and putting the clippings in the bag from my mower bagger. So here is my solution. Once you finish mowing, take a blower and blow those clippings back and forth across the yard. They will eventually all fall between the blades of grass. Works for me.

I will give that a try but as you can see the clippings are about 2 inches thick. A hay baler might be required for the back yard lol. There is also grass on the other side of the pond.

I've gotten like 1 day of some rain in the last 3 weeks, good for mowing, bad for plants.

I'm liking it a lot, got a few small things done this weekend,

Built some shelving from costco in the garage, installed new NEST thermostat.

Still gotta pull dishwasher, it's leaking, for time being I just turned water off to it.

We had a torrential downpour every day last week except for Friday. Right now I'm mowing every 5 days. If it doesn't rain in those 5 days I can bag the front yard. It will never be possible to bag the backyard. We tried cutting the back more frequently a few summers ago but that ended up being about every 2 days to keep the clippings down. We went thru a lot of fuel! The water table is so high in the back because of the pond that it will literally grow over a 1/2" a day. It's basically hay field grass back there.

I've watched a couple of videos on the lawn sweepers and I'm not so sure they do a really good job. Almost like I need a dang lawn vacuum super powered industrial strength Tim the tool man Taylor ohhhh oh ohhhh oh oh sweeper lol!

Quite right. Came back from Brewton on Florida line this weekend and it had rained buckets all the way up to about Clanton.

Even the rain that blows across northern Alabama almost always misses me. I'm in the space between huntsville airport and the arsenal. Big storms will come right up on us, vanish, and reappear on the other side.

At this point I'm about 90% sure the arsenal is doing some sort of weather control or something...

lmao I know right where you're at, and that's really accurate!

I'm in South Huntsville so we only get what the arsenal pushes around them haha!
