You do realize the snorkel is for dust and not necessarily water right?

And if you break it, you're buying me another one... (aka no ones driving my truck)

The errosion is the problem. They have logging equipment in some areas and have to keep gradding the roads just to not get stuck

A few of us loaded in my buddies $60k dollar landcruiser and we're hitting the fire roads here on the mountain. If I owned this LC there's no way I would be beating on it like this.

That's what he said. He had some 3 wheel action going, it was like a see-saw while crossing some deep ruts. The recent heavy rain caused some serious rutting on these downhill trails.

I thought we were still talking about David’s snorkel for some reason. Leave me alone, I’m tired.

Someone here mentioned that they were interested in my 16x8 M/T Classic Locks when i was ready to sell. I located another set of wheels. My wheels are the ones pictured on my black 4runner. Other pics show the different possibilities with these wheels because of the bolt on rings.

Those snorkels must be pretty damn air tight then. Cool, thanks for the lesson. I kinda like the look of the snorkel that comes out of the top of the fender.

Like everything else I assume there are good ones and not so good ones huh?

So the snorkels themselves are air-tight for the most part. The issue, and reason they dont completely help with water, is your air intake box still has small holes in the bottom of it in most cases. And on top of that, once the water gets to that height, you have a lot of electronics under water. So, in order to fully protect from water, you would have to seal the intake box completely, completely waterproof every electrical connection, make sure your gaskets dont leak. And that's not including what you would need to do to protect the interior.

So while they help with water, they are not the solution to deep water crossings.

Thanks for the great explanation Tyler! Yea, I suppose since there are like 5 electrical connections under my front seats alone, which are obviously not waterproof, the best course of action would be to avoid very deep water altogether. They do look cool though!

This is that 1968 VW Beetle buggy that was left on that new property. Last week I got rid of it to a buddy of mine up on the mountain. He found & installed a motor and is having a blast with it.

Those guys are having a blast with it. I was surprised how fast he found and installed the motor.
