What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Made some progress on my rear bumper, almost done, hopefully can finish it after work today.

 

I was lifted 3" with stock UCAs for like 10 yrs. Yeah definitely recommended to get after market UCAs but it's not absolutely critical. Just keep an eye on the upper ball joint especially if wheel a lot as you can easily over extend it with that much lift. If you run your truck hard & often then aftermarket UCAs is something to think about soon.

Yes, well expanding the notches some.

 

I know that whole area like the back of my hand, been there a thousand times lol. Used to live near it and only about an hour away now, so it's one of my go-to spots. Fun area, lots of stuff to explore. Some really tough 4x4 trails and easier go fast stuff, and everything in-between

Greased the drivers door handle mechanism. Opens buttery smooth now. But, upon reassembly I couldnt get the interior door latch to go back in by pushing in and sliding it over. Like an idiot, I tried to persuade it by using a plastic chisel and a tiny hammer. Yup, I cracked it. Turns out I didnt push it in all the way first. It still works and is just cracked on the outside bezel but it pisses me off that I would be so dumb. But eBay came to my rescue. Ordered this (hopefully) direct replacement.

Saw a sweet first gen at the gym today. Gen 1 is the best looking gen in my opinion.

 

Anyone know if all 01-04 rear factory flares are the same? I thought I remember something about the double cab rear flares being different or was that only for bushwacker flares?

What's the canned bed liner that y'all were recommending the other day? Going to POR15 then bed line the sliders once I get the truck back. Supposed to rain all week so the damn things will be nice and coated in a fine rust

 

Duplicolor Ben liner spray.

 

I've been having good luck so far (year or more) with Rustoleum Spray Bedliner. They have it pretty cheap at Home Depot (compared to Walmart) $7 vs. $11.

 

nah I've had both. The Duplicolor stuff last way longer.

 

I'll have to give it a try!
