True. I almost said Hawaii, but refrained as they’ve been having that huge lava flow problem. I suggested rather the opposite of fire and lava, ice. To which I have no idea if they are actually having issues too lol.

Fun fact. Iceland has over 100 volcanoes, 30 of which are active, and sits on top of two tectonic plates. It ain't called the Land of Fire and Ice for nothing.

    Edit:

Damnit. Should have caught up on the whole thread. @Don5352 got it.

Bodie is a good time, you can come in from the north on Masonic Road off of Sweetwater Road. There is also a trail off Masonic you can take to the top of Bodie Mountain. We hiked to the top but saw a couple people wheel it. If you hike it be prepared for ~10,000ft+ elevation. Took us a little bit.

It sucks. When I was up there with the nephew, and the kids from Spain, we stopped half way up Signal Peak to shoot. It turned out to be a somewhat popular spot for shooting. Lots of empty single serving water bottles. A flat metal target. Broken clay pigeons, and paper targets. We just used pine cones for targets. But, I had the kids police the area. I have heavy duty trash bags I carry in the truck. Had the kids fill it with trash left by others. Good lesson in stewardship.

Additionally, some of you may remember back in 2010 a massive eruption in Iceland spewed ash so heavily that commercial airlines in Scandinavia and Europe grounded aircraft for days.

    That’s awesome.
Growing up my dad would take us fly fishing. We would always pack out trash that others left behind.

Yea, I know. I suppose the sarcasm was lost on that one. I only said Iceland cause ice is the opposite of fire. Didn’t think everyone was a geographical biologist

Eagle Lakes/Signal Peak has really blown up in terms of campers like Gold Lake did. Too many people know about it now and seems to be populated more and more by those that don't understand the term "pack it in, pack it out."
I doubt I'll ever camp there again unless its pre/post summer and a weekday.

    stuff
Last year @Don5352 , my buddy Pedro, and myself ran Signal Peak. Hangin at the top for a few minutes, all of a sudden a squad of 4th gen 4runners hits the top of the road like theyre Ken Block or something. We had kids and dogs scattering for cover, and the numbnuts came within a foot of goin over the edge lockin up his brakes. Then his buddies were talking about rolling a spare wheel and tire down the mountainside... "you know the trail is down there..."
