Looking to upgrade the suspension on my 2017 sr5 crew cab short bed Tacoma. I’m looking for 2.5 inches of lift up front and about an inch in the back. Would like something that’s feels really plush on the streets and does decent off road (will only be off-road a few times a year) Really interested in the fox 2.5s up front with 2.0s in the back with Camburg UCAs (opinions on this setup would be great) although if I can achieve a cheaper setup with bilsteins and different springs that would be great too. Thanks in advance! Side note: I’m open to kings but cost does come into play

Welcome this has been talked about many many many times. Simple search in the right corner took me 10 seconds to find this little info, and I am sure if I did a more complete search it would have brought up even more.

Camburg uca, are they the uniball? If so they can squeak a lot of not maintained. Personally I’d suggest spc’s Uca or I Hear a lot of people like jba’s uca. If staying under 3” you might not need uca’s

Keep in mind a fox or king will eventually need a rebuild. But there are both nicer than Billy’s. Billy’s are an inexpensive route that a lot of people do and work well.

Since your here and are looking for info, call Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road she will be able to point you in he right direction

I didnt find Billies 5100s to be "plush" for city driving therefore I'm contemplating a switch to coilovers from either ads, king, or fox.

If you are looking for plush, then I believe the choices should be narrowed down to two.

Then look at how each are valves. Progressive vs digressive vs linear

Keep in mind, the 5100s are nowhere near the quality or price range of the Fox or Kings. You will probably pay 5 to 8x the price to get a set of either of the others that you will to get the 5100s. I paid $350 for my Bilsteins, and the King setup I was looking at earlier was $2800 just for the coilovers and rear shocks, not to mention another $1500 for leaf springs and UCAs the way I wanted to set it up. In the end I knew I wouldn't need the performance from the king's, and that it would have been a $3500 waste of money. So I went with the 5100s. They are fairly stiff, definitely stiffer than stock. But it's a truck, and I don't have to feel like I'm driving a Cadillac when I'm hauling a load of wood.

Sweet, thank you guys for the imput. Definetly going to do some research but think I knocked out the billstein route. Leaning towards foxes as it’s more so if a middle ground, I can deal with the maintence

I'm sure you'll be happy with either, they're both great brands.
