I have put in Racesport gen3 leds I'm the process of doing a custom audio overhaul which will include Hybrid audio unity 6x9 mid bass, unity 3 inch mid driver in the dash and fiberglassing tweets in pilar soundeading all the doors, floors, and headliner and I will be using a helix processor to retain the factory radio and as far as subs I might make custom brackets to move rear seat foward a few inches to get a full size sub in there or I might just go with a pair of jl tw5 or tw3 and it will all be powered by jl audio HD amps or I might try out the new hybrid amps
Hey so I’m going to start my audiophile system in my 17 Tacoma. Im a profesional car audio installer so I’m going to go all out on it as it will be one of my stores demo vehicles. It will be a fully active system. Meaning no passive crossovers I’m going to go 3 way active upfront, coax in the rear, and I’m hoping to squeeze 3 8s in a custom ported box in the back. The equipment I’m going to be using is
•Hybrid audio unity 2ohm neo 6x9 woofers im the doors
•Hybrid audio 3 inch mids in the dash
•Hybrid audio unity tweeters in custom pillars I’m making.
•hybrid audio imagine 6-1/2 coaxes for rear fill
•helix pro dsp(might switch for a zapco or new alpine.)
•amps aren’t 100% decided yet I might go with 3 Pheonix gold ti3 or 3 alpine x series they will be two four channels and one mono block.
    • T-spec v12 wiring for all power wires! 2 Oguage runs from front to back and 4 guage from dist block to amps.
•T-spec v12 rcas from dsp to amps.
    • and new speaker wire ran to every speaker I’m using stinger 16 guage ofc for highs and stinger and 12 gauge for subs.
•Fast rings for 6x9 in door
•Soundskins rings for rear speakers and mids.
    • soundeading a lot of sound deading I’m using a mixture of stinger roadkill and ballistic I’ve used 1 and a half bulk packs on the doors alone doing iner and outer layers! And soom in the door panel as well Still have floor, roof, and back wall left I will use more traditional sound deading and foam liner to make it as quite as possible! I’m a full time installer so will be positing as I go i have very little time to work on my own cars but there will be pics and tips for all you D.Y.ers our there feel free to ask questions about the products listed above or any audio related questions. Here’s a picture of a rear door that I sound deadend already.

I’m keeping the factory headunit because I dont like the look of aftermarket radios! I might fiberglass a iPad or a 8 inch alpine on the future. But for now The factory headunit and the dsp.

As a dealer of the kenwood/alpine stuff which would you prefer for features aside from the looks?

I’m a kenwood guy tbh so I’m a little biased but I’d go with the dnx995s

That's the one I had my eye on. I was an installer of custom systems many moons ago and was a kenwood guy back then myself.

That one and the ddx9905s are the two top kenwood radios as far as sound quality are concerned! And they both have CarPlay Android auto and all the other bells San whistles!

In for progress. OP, I may PM you in the future and come visit your shop. I have been thinking about going with the OEM+ system, but you may have a better option.

I really want to do all the sound deadening for the doors and replace the door speakers with the kickers. What would you advise for the doors and how to get the deadening inside the doors?

@MannyTheAudioGuy, so what do you think the entire upgrade would be including labor?
