What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Getting it set up for camping at the springs this weekend.. can't F'n wait!!! Friends, food, booze, kayaks and tubes. It's been a while

117k changed the original rotors/pads. Rear were fine but I did repaint the drums and purged new fluid throughout

 

Replaced the old leafs with a new stock pack from a 2018, and added a leaf.



And then I hammered the pinch weld, and trimmed some plastic and metal to help clearance, but the cab mount is still rubbing a bit.

 

I have everything but a sub. Probably going to do it anyway. And completely cover the doors. I did all 4 half assed and I barely used half of my material

 

I tried looking. Couldn't find it on their website. I'll dig deeper. Thanks for the heads up

personally, I put this one, because I've baptized my Taco "longhorn edition".
I've been working in cattle for decades, and when I went to Texas to visit my daughter, I liked the stickers on their trucks.
I'm 61, and I still feel like I did 20 years ago, having fun with my Tacoma.

did you baptize yourself your truck "texas edition" , or does exist a Tacoma texas edition as well as Ford has a King Ranch edition ??

 

Need some info, just picked up a Draw Tite 75236 Class III 2in hitch for my 07 from a local. It looks new, never used, has minor scratches and scrubs. Turns out he bought it for his x runner and it wasn't going to work. Got it for a good price, mainly because he didn't have the mounting hardware anymore. Already contacted Draw Tite to see if I can purchase the hardware. But I also asked about an issue I saw with the left mounting bracket, its bent inwards a good amount, good enough to notice it compared to the other side. If I'm not mistaken, that will be an issue when i mount it, being its made to slide around the frame and bolt in, if I install it now, it will probably hit the frame on that side and not slide up. My main question is, if I somehow bend this, what I believe to be 1/4in or thicker steel plate, back into place, will that actually hurt the welds and cause a failure below the actual towing or tongue weight capacity?

 

You might have to email them I’m sure they will sell them to you.

 

Doubt it. Bend it back, mount it, then test it out at capacity. Remember that you bought it cheap if it fails.

 

... Yeah $70 vs $106 lol, and now I've got to purchase the hardware separately.




But still grateful I finally found one for a good price that's quality from what I can see.

 

I couldn’t get the pipe to fit where it needs to go without cutting it. If you can find more flexible pipe than PVC you don’t need to cut it.

Only the front ones need brackets, and yes they are included.
