I miss the pipes on my Tundra, she was a V8, all the reason to have a custom set up. I won't do the same on my V6 just not the same. I had everything pulled from new manifolds all the way back...did it right, no fart pipes allowed. Two High flow Magnaflow Cats out to a Magnaflow muffler and custom bent pipes out both sides (straight backs look half ass and silly unless you have the fitted bumper for it like the Ram trucks) I also ran into a LOT of Inspection BS due to them...not crazy loud, a classy LOW rumble.
Wondering if I had done the TRD custom exhaust would MA Inspection Stations let it slide due to it being 'Factory'??? That is what I always heard, IF IT WAS FACTORY it was OK...just BS

The TRD exhaust sounds good. Not too loud and no issues living with it on the highway. Other than sounding good, I doubt it does anything else other than make me have lower MPG because I like hearing it.

i have the TRD on a Pro.

3 days ago i removed rear cats, installed URD's Y pipe, and re-routed everything for clearance.

runs smoother with less resistance. but now the nice TRD rumble is gone and replaced by the typical nasty V6 buzz. not loud or droning, just buzzing. awful. heading back to the exhaust shop to go muffler shopping next.

Running URD headers, y-pipe, and TRD cat back I needed to have a resonator installed to help with the rasp. That's the solution to the rasp. Also, the longer I drive it, the less it gets, almost like the new exhaust needed some break in time.

How are you running headers on the 3.5 v6?

Just kidding. I have a 2nd gen, so I can run headers. Rasp is horrid and I was just inputting my experience with a full aftermarket exhaust system so others can learn.

Ah.. I heard a nice 2nd gen a few months ago. Looked fully modded and I also heard a supercharger.

Dude probably has the same exhaust system.

I am running a Magnaflow muffler and chrome exhaust tip. Sounds good starting up, around town, and on the trail. Drones a bit on the highway which is kind of annoying. Not really sure how to avoid this other than going back to a stock muffler.

My SC is the reason I got a full exhaust. The SC makes the exhaust worth it

Do not buy anything from Magnaflow, they will pretty much abandon you right after they got your money. The magnaflow cat back on my 1st gen is pile of shit

    For a V6, the TRD exhaust was plenty throaty. And i came off a X5 50i w/a V8

I installed the Gibson 618814 Stainless Cat-Back on my 18 TRDOR about two weeks ago. I live in Hawaii so getting stuff shipped for cheap isn't easy. Amazon was only 18$ to ship it compared to 150 for other sites. So far I've enjoyed the sound. No drone on the freeways and sounds good around town. Easy install but I recommend the stock bolts for the ones that come with the system are too long. I paid 430 total but I believe its cheaper now, about 386. I painted the tip black with a high temp piss can.

Well gentlemen! I pulled the trigger and got the exhaust re route done and had them put on a Spintech 3000 muffler. I stead of going to 2.5" piping they went with 2.25"....sounds like nothing my friends and I have ever heard. As close to a V8 rumble as it can get with a 3.5l V6. Right off the bat, no loss of bottom end but did lose 1mpg...haha, could my driving as the sound makes you want to give her a little more! She definitely got a little performance gain and a lot more sound! If you havent heard a Spintech exhuast, your missing out. Had then mount the new spintech about 4" higher then the stock to get the best clearance. Here are some pics and I will try and post some sound bites as soon as I can! Thanks to Scottsdale Muffler, Chris and the guys are awesome!
