Yep. From people that I respect, they all say to mix it up, but up there the nypmh produces in those pools between rapids.

I've not actually been to rapid yet. Just recently took a couple trips out there to become familiar with the land. Made it out to Pond on the river and B pond. A girl friend of ours has a camp on Millsfield pond, and we have been camping more at Umbagog and Mollidgewock to get us in there area.

Great land up there. Lots of fun and always a challenge to find public Access to areas

Yeah I really enjoy watching fish break the surface to smash a dry fly so I waste a lot of time on dries when I know nymphing will be more productive. I switch between streamers, dry flies and nymphing there. We fish sun up to sun down so gotta change up to keep interested haha

We always rent a house but i gotta get up to camp soon

We'll keep me in mind next time you go up. Chances are we will already be camping in the area , or if we are farther north could swing by on the way back.

I'm still a couple years fresh to fly fishing, but I've been a trout bum since a kid and we avidly fish in our family. It's always weird being heavily involved in fishing and going to top notch trout fisheries that hold bug fish and are fly only, and you're now essentially a rookie again. The only difference is knowing exactly what you're getting into. Haha

Yeah i've probably been fly fishing for almost 10 years now, started around 16-17 and have learned a bunch but there are still days I can stand next to a guy 30 feet to my side and he is catching double digits and I haven't hooked a fish yet. That can be a frustrating day hahaha. The upper section of the Swift in my town is catch and release fly fishing only and it's a tailwater so I can at least fish all year round there for some nice trout.

This vintage seems to take more and more work and upkeep just to drive it daily... god forbid if I ever wanted to wheel the fucking thing... or take it on a trip and go on an actual vacation. Instead I’m spending all my free time and money I don’t have on fixing shit that shouldn’t be broken in the first place.... pointless money pit.

    I’m a little salty.

Wtf? I thought that those models were ok. Maybe it just hit the maintenance curve? Mine needed a bunch of little things at 170kish. I haven’t fixed anything real in the past 2 years. Granted my exhaust is rotted out but at 230 + it seems reliable for most stuff still.

Don't really think the fella would care to be kicked while he's down and clearly frustrated with his truck at the moment...

I did this to my Ford. Funny enough I used shitbox icon's too. They have the WORST customer service and life expectancy I have ever seen, and from reading this forum, they are even worse on toyotas. I also messed with my electrical doing my headlights and it somehow totally ruined my electrical system and it never worked right again, even after almost 2k in new wiring and lights. I also did a bunch of other little things to it that I didn't need too and eventually went bad.

With my taco, I have forced myself to hold off on almost all the mods I want to do. The ones I have done are all cosmetic basically and I am leery of going much further even though I would really like to. Like you tho, the time and money it takes to maintain a truck like that was too much and I had to ditch it. I am not done with toys per se, but I am much more cautious and I won't ever mod my lights again I don't think.
