    Oh im sure it’s nice.

But I’ve never even heard of that stuff, which I guess means I probably don’t need it.

Cadillacs are very common cars around here. There are hundreds of them at my local junkyard. When I have help, it takes over two hours to comb through ONLY the GM sedan section.

We have 'em all. BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Toyota, Honda, Range Rover, Ford, GM, etc etc etc. You can find just about any car you want here. My local yard has thousands of cars.

I've had old caddies, they're just fine and easy to fix being old and huge like most American stuff. Now an old european car, those are junk 5 years later. Only Merc I'll ever want is a 300TD or just 300D

Just get a new gate from Rock Auto and have Maaco shoot it IJM, cost less $300 and be perfect. Finding a tailgate from these trucks is hard

That's because the 5.7 diesel was the biggest flop GM ever engineered, there was only one caddy to ever receive it too. That engine is rare now, but damn was it completely awful, it was just a reinforced gas motor and was all wrong for diesel.

That's probably a great radio, but man, it's :spending:. Check out the Kenwoods - the TM-D710G and TM-V71A. Both are dual band, and will let you do APRS while talking on another channel.

Even though I have the D710G, I use it like a V71A (I don't use the built-in APRS, instead favoring a Mobilinkd for APRS).

You can often get the D710G for ~$450 from Amazon warehouse. Or, save even more and get the V71A. Personally, the V71A seems like the best bang for the buck to me (across all brands/radios).

    HA

Do you know how fast Tacomas get stripped around here when one does come into the yard? I love to tell this story, and I've said it many times on here and I'll say it again.

I was getting some brake calipers from a Tundra, just minding my own business. Tundras are rarer than Tacomas, so this was a treat for me. As I was struggling to get the last caliper bolt off, I hear the front loader roaring in the distance coming towards me. This Tundra was in the aisle so I could see all the foot traffic and loader traffic.

Out of curiosity, I get up and start trying to see what car it is. As it gets closer I notice it's a 1st Gen Tacoma Ext. Cab. Great! I'll just finish what I'm doing here and go salvage the truck-

Until I see the dust cloud behind it the loader. There is 5-6 Mexicans guys not walking, RUNNING after the loader trying to get in front of each other. I will never forget the scene when the loader put it down. These guys attacked the engine bay, trying to get parts away from the other. Three of them prevailed to get the engine... with a Sawzall. They cut EVERYTHING keeping to the truck. The wiring, AC Lines, radiator hoses, everything.

They took the engine out in less than 15 minute. I was in shock. Luckily they didn't give a shit about the interior so I took it all with me.

    I'll never forget that.

Point being, if you want a piece off a Tacoma good luck. It was probably taken 5 minutes after the loader put it down. To this day, I have not seen in intact Tacoma tailgate yet.

I'm sorry but that's the most egregious way I've seen someone spell the word 'Filipino' before in my life.

The filler neck? Gas door and filler neck trim is usually gone, but the filler neck is still there since it's part of the gas tank.

    Yes and damn.

If you stumble upon a magnetic lock/holder one with both the door and trim pick it up and I’ll buy it.

Idgaf about color cause I’ll just sand, prime and spray it black
