This fixes exactly that issue - and does a bang up job at it! Really peppy now, much more fun to drive!

Talked to my service advisor about it and he found this tsb that describes my issues better.

Gonna bring it back tomorrow for this.

    If it doesn’t help I’ll try 0062-18

I'm pretty sure both TSBs are going to have the same fix... Either way you get the new ECM file.

Minor correction; 96 months or 80,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Honestly, I'd still recommend it. I guarantee you'll be surprised with how much different (better) it drives.

Did they prove that by showing you your ECU ID? Based on how some dealerships are treating this, I'd be hard pressed to believe them without showing you proof.

They did not. I actually just scheduled another appointment with another dealership to get a second opinion.

??? why would he recommend a 2 year old outdated flash? Don't bother with the Rev1 flash, there is a long thread in the sticky section if you want to read about it but the short version is that it only fixed the shift flares and stuff, did nothing for the bipolar shifting. I actually don't think they can even use that flash anymore since I'm pretty sure the new TSB supersedes the older ones since the new one incorporates the old stuff

hold your ground. that is not what you want or need. it was a slight improvement from the original stock calibration but is a far far cry from what the latest ECU update does. this isn't just a "fix" to update or resolve a couple of unique scenarios. it is a broad sweeping update of how the truck handles throttle, ignition, shifting, etc.,

Service advisor is a good dude he said he’ll do what ever updates I want. I thought the old one sounded more like what I’ve been experiencing?
But I’ll take everyone’s word to do the newer one.

    Colorado Tacoma Owners:
Anybody in CO know of a dealership that will do the update without a test drive and trying to replicate the issue(s)? I have all of the various issues everyone has been talking about. I'm getting pushback from my local dealer about doing the update without going out and beating the hell out of the truck to replicate the issue. Last time I had I had my previous Tacoma to this dealer for different issues that required several test drives the average fuel economy on the cluster when I got it back was 7.9MPG...So they won't be driving my vehicles anymore.
    Thanks.

Ive taken mine to Autonation Arapahoe Toyota and they tried to replicate the issue and couldnt. Also told me my truck was built after updates (built mid June 2018).

I have an appointment with Mountain States Toyota next Friday, hopefully they will just update.

Gotcha, please keep me posted on your experience at Mountain States...they are close enough to my work that I could get the truck over there pretty easily. I've been dealing with Boulder Toyota, see my thread in the CO section for more details about my service department experience.
    Thanks.

None of the TSBs referenced in this thread can be applied to a M/T truck.

    So, nope.

    UPDATE: 0058-18 CUW files contain M/T updates to 04B13 (2016/17) and 04A71(2018).

Can this be applied to a lifted truck? Maybe it wouldn't be free or would they deny the request altogether?

Which sucks because I feel like there's a slight stumble when I get on it from ~1k-1.5k in first while rolling in traffic. It's intermittent as hell but it happens with pretty regularity on my commute home as long and slow as it is.
