I wanted to do that last night on the way back from my nephews baseball tourney but didn't get time to stop. May try to head up there later today and see what they have.

I'll update the details on our website when I get a chance, but the spirit of our upcoming cook/raffle on August 18th has changed a tad.

One of our cooks, Brandon, just had to admit his 4 week old daughter to the ER this weekend. She developed an infection that landed on one of the bones in her leg, affecting some of the soft tissue. They have drained what they could, but are now fighting it with antibiotics that she has to have administered via an IV. She's already been under anesthesia a few times, is getting a line run to a vein near her heart, and is undergoing various blood tests. His daughter will be on the IV for a minimum of 1 week, but they said it could be as long as 6 weeks in the hospital. Brandon and wife have a 4 year old and a family dog that other friends/family are pitching it to help out with while they keep someone up at the hospital with their daughter. Unfortunately, and for obvious reasons, Brandon won't be able to participate in the fundraising cook. We're not sure if he can do the competition, either.

To help them out, we are capping the proceeds for our competition at a low figure (just basic essentials) and donating the rest to help him and his wife out with the medical bills. I'm sure those aren't insignificant given they just paid for a delivery and now all of this.

Thoughts are with them all. That's a tough situation. Hoping for an expidited timeline on recovery.

 

Thanks. I feel bad for the guy. Their older kid has dealt with some pretty bad allergies. They've had to do a lot of work with food prep to delicately dance around the potential for an allergic reaction. His kid will be fine, but it's definitely a rough patch.

 

That's good news for sure, albeit a tough time now, but glad it's a known thing that'll heal and pass.

 

Never fun to see the little ones hurting. Whenever my daughter get's sick or hurt I wish I could be the one sick or hurt so she doesn't have to. Was talking with a friend many years ago about just BS and we got on the subject of family and I was like someone wants to see how truly evil and mean I can be screw with my family especially my kid(s). There will be nowhere on this planet I won't find the one who does it.

On the bright side we just ordered more RTIC tumblers for stock. Also got some Nice Libbey Pint glasses and Beer Steins in, if anyone is interested lol.

If anyone is interested in some Pitfaced BBQ logo'd stuff from @Kanyon71 , I've worked it out with him so that he can take orders for any product he sells and etch our logo on to it, then sell directly. Kind of a licensing, deal, if you will . Until we can explore inventorying something like that, this will cut out a middle man and extra shipping that would otherwise add to the price. We'll run this way through the end of September, at least.
