Question about the TSB everyone is talking about,is it for Auto trans only or does it cover all Tacoma's?

A little late, but the answer is auto only.

    @OVTune any dev news for 1.05 M/T?

    1. Anything of use for us in the latest auto trans calibrations from Toyota? Throttle goodies?

    2. Do you have your testing gang sorted out?

Will have more for you guys once I finish up all this Auto trans stuff, widespread updates for the auto from Toyota makes things a pain. Sorry

That’s about the same diameter tire I’m running and want to go 4.88, thanks for sharing this! I just got done reading through both huge 4.88 gearing threads and learned a lot. Guys at or near stock tires are only at about 2700rpm for 75mph in 6th (our double over drive gears do serve some purpose I suppose :/ ). Guys messaged me saying they can go all the way to 82-84mph before they are even at 3k rpm. But the increased felt Torque/power delivery in the lower gears make everyday driving much better, increasing mpg. I plan on ordering my gears this week, can’t wait! With my enduro bikes and gear in my truck I’m Constantly having to shift down all the way to 4th to maintain highway speeds on the passes I drive up during my normal trips. And 3rd gear if I want to pass someone. Then I end up getting average 14ish mpg :/ 4.88 gearing with the upcoming 1.05 tune should make this truck feel phenomenal!

Right on, are you going with a pre-built third member or having a shop swap them out? Or doing it yourself?

I’m going to order the 3rd member complete from ECGS UNLESS they do not offer REM polished gears. Then I’ll have to order master kit separate. And nope I’m a horrible mechanic. I recently did the front/rear anytime camera install and I thought I followed instructions perfectly but nope, I’m an idiot and truck started shutting down different systems on my way to work following day. Uninstalled it , Tested all fuses and traced it back to ECU fuse. Swapped it out and that fixed it. So yea no more stupid stuff for me, @Speed Freek will be doing for me. He’s done all my other installs and fixes for me.

    Nice!

I'll be interested to hear how it all plays out. Were I to 're-gear some day, that's probably how I'd do it too.

Everytime I drive my stock truck I just want to run it off a cliff. Like the Grand Canyon...

The throttle delay and dive in RPMs off the start it's highly ineffective.

I need to conjure 700 for the tune lol

Re-flashed with 1.04A 91 today after approx 3500km. Right back to super smoooth.

The throttle had become a little "squishy" in some situations and this slight stutter at low RPM when not up to temp had crept in over time.

Since 1.05 is on the horizon and I'd be flashing soon anyway, what the heck.. why not. I consider it a test of my flashing setup lol.

Plus it will be interesting to see how things settle in this time now the the daily temps are considerably higher than the last time I flashed.

    Cheers all

Seems we just can't beat the self learning of this truck.

Had this issue last summer before I bought the tune...

With the temps up in the 90s, I am getting knock under certain conditions - after acceleration /load but when letting OFF the throttle. Doesn't seem to matter gear or speed much, but around mid range RPM.

Knock is brief but very pronounced.

As I said it did it pre tune and is still happening on 1.04 87. Only happens when its 90 degrees+ outside.

I've been in and out of this thread since the beginning, but is there a mechanism to data log and send in to @OVTune ?

    Anyone else having this issue?
