That would be the positive look at the situation. The negative would be not being able to compete at his level and being made to look less than and unappealing to teams with an open seat. I think Vandoorne is going to have a hard time finding a seat if Alonso stays and another up-and-comer needs one. Had he been able to perform on par with Alonso his stock would have risen. Also

All my parents bought
me was food, clothing, etc and provided shelter. I always thought that was pretty darn good but an F1 team and an automatic F1 ride would have been waaay better. Those people live on another freaking planet.

I gotta say, I'm pretty proud of this thread. We are half way thru the season and we are almost at 70 pages. The conversations are good, lots of info (mainly due to @OZ-T who's always got the dirt), we stay on topic, and you all are passionate. I appreciate those facts.

Speaking of staying on topic, I noticed last week that the beIn channel was added to our cable package so I promptly went in and added the MotoGP live races and qualy to my recording schedule.

I almost forgot how immensely entertaining MotoGP qualifying is. Dare I say a qualy session is even more worth the watch then most of the races on the F1 calendar.

My cable provider only offers Bein with their highest priced premium every channel under the sun package. Screw that. The only thing that my basic package really lacks as far as I'm concerned is Bein, Smithsonian, and the PAC12 network. Spectrum sucks.

 

this silly season is sure shaping up. [say that 10 times fast]. Villeneuve's stock is rising and that's a ton o fun. his mouth compensates for most of the drivers being afraid to speak up.
