I like how you took the pic at the same time of day in the same spot so we can see the shadows. Great comparison shot!!

Look fellas, no need to argue here....

This is all very simple... 255s if you prefer to wear limp wrists and 285s if you sport strong and true wrists.

No one is judging here... You like what you like!

FWIW, I have 285/75/16 and did not cut a single thing on my truck. My average MPG barely decreased to even notice, I can maintain 70-75 MPH on the highway without "searching for gears", and am still pretty functional off-road. Don't think theres one right answer for what size tires every Tacoma owner should put on his/her truck. Dunno about instagram, but looks pretty cool in my driveway:cool:

Try 255/75/17, much bigger selection including BFG KO2 and mud terrain KM in C load. That size is bigger than a 265/70/17, almost the diameter of a 275/70/17 tire but with better selection and lighter weights.

Thanks! I am seeing that most online sellers advocate not to use 255 on 9 inch wheels. Is 17x9 too wide of a wheel for 255 wide tires?

Might look a little "Hawaiian style" but you should be fine.

Hawaiian owners like a little stretch in their tires but you shouldn't look this bad.

I guess there are no curbs in Hawaii to worry about.

    Sorry OP :threadjacked:
