Yes it's required and it's good for 3yrs. All expire in Feb.

The funds paid for the sticker goes directly into the conservation fund. You're paying directly for your access. Also tells DNR that people use OHVs too.

You get reciprocity with others states in most cases.

In the past 10yrs of wheeling in county/state/federal lands in MN I have been stopped 8 times and checked.

    https://files.dnr.state.mn.us/rlp/regulations/ohv/ohv_regs.pdf

    Page 28 covers the punishment.

That said, we did a water crossing on a sandy bottom creek two summers ago. About 3min later a conservation officer on a Polaris ACE, all done up in camo, came out of nowhere.

He ran us all for wants and warrants, and hassled my buddy for not having his OHV sticker on his license plate... he got cleared since his plates for the Jeep were still in the mail.

So just like any violation and traffic stop. Your level of violation, attitude, and demeanor will dictate the outcome.

We are camping in that area (caribou targhee NF) the night of the 8th on our way up the continental divide. Looks like all the routes on the MVUM are legal for dispersed camping.

    On edit and free shit:

I have an old, well used trasharoo that I am getting rid of. Water proof liner is flaking off, its faded AF, and I've had to change one of the buckles.. but it'll still hold a trash bag. Anyone know of someone that would want this before it goes in the trash?

What're fellow MN drivers feelings on snow tires, specifically on your Tacomas? Are all seasons (whatever factory standard tires are on the Sport) with the ability to go into 4WD good enough or do you think winter tires help enough to warrant them? Debating on whether I should get a set of the 4Runner TRD Pro 17" wheels to use for summer and transfer the normal tires over to them and then use the Sport OEM wheels for winter with winter tires of course. Between the wheels and winter tires though, that is probably around $1500 I'd imagine, so not trivial at least for me.

I do think winter tires are a good idea in general, btw. I do have a set of them for my wife's Corolla, but of course she doesn't have the option of 4WD when needed, etc.

I just use all terrain tires. Snow tires are good for snow packed or ice packed roads. MN uses alot of chemicals on the roads to keep the snow n ice pack down to a minimum. Longested I have seen ice n enos on the roads Is 2 weeks.

@PoweredBySoy so i am really glad I got bolt on sliders like you had said before. The peeling and rusting after less than 18 months got so bad, painting over the exposed parts just became too much. Took them off last weekend, getting them recoated with a primer layer too, hopefully its a better coat than what RCI gave me.

In other topics, anyone here use a DECKED drawer system? thinking of getting that plus a cargo glide installed on top of the decked.

Saw a darker (MGM or that dark brown) lifted taco heading north on 169 from St Peter in that section that follows the West Bank of the Minnesota river. Looked to have a modular type bed rack with a tepeui tent on top.

Anyone here know of such an animal.

    Hey MN Tacomas!

I'm hoping you guys can advise me...

I'm looking for a Toyota dealer in Minneapolis to do a 45,000 service check for my 2014 DC OR. Are any of the dealers are better than others?

I'm doing a cross-country tour of the national parks for work.

Thanks in advance for any help/recommendations you can give me!

I had a good experience once at Maplewood Toyota... it can, however, be SUPER busy there. Got me in and out quicker than estimated and the bill was less than I was quoted. I usually do not use dealership shops, to be honest.

I'll be heading back out to Badlands/Black Hills in a few weeks here, but that'll mostly be a touristy family trip.
Forrest and I were hoping to get up to the Keweenaw peninsula at some point this late fall, but who knows. I'd also like to go back to Drummond Is. at some point too.
Then there will definitely be our obligatory winter trip or two - up north somewhere.

Next year I really want to get back out to Canyonlands in the fall. No idea when, but I'd like to time it with the 2019 Rock Therapy, so that way I can drive out there with Chris - assuming he'd be going to RT. Or better yet maybe he'll just come to Canyonlands with me. I'm not planning on doing any Moab rated trails for this one. Just going to get lost in Canyonlands.

Aaron says he's out, but don't believe his lies.
