Still running high? Might suck but open all your windows and blast the heat to pull heat off the block. See if Temps drop at all

But I agree a brand new 2017 truck should NOT have to do this to avoid overheating..take a pic for the dealer

Temp dropped a bit with ac off but still nowhere near centered. Brand new truck should be able to run a/c in only 100 heat at a dead stop

I would pop the hood and see if the overflow is pushing out any coolant. Since the a/c is running shitty i'd suspect a fan issue.

Real advice. It pulls heat off the block and allows it to cool. AC makes it heat up big time.

Curious, would a vacuum pump be related to ac at all?

Might also try upping the rpm's in neutral to get the fan moving some air with that also.

It's real (and worthwhile) advice. Blasting the heat will suck hot air from the engine bay and push it out through the vents. You'll be uncomfortable, but it'll help minimize heat on the truck.

I've done that myself (along with hardwiring the radiator fans using a regular 120v extension cord) to get back home from a camping trip when the thermostat on my first car ('93 Integra LS) failed and refused to turn the fans on.

I dont know why or how some of your trucks over heat.
I lived in bakersfield and had to deal with traffic, ac on with my ultragauge I have never went beyond 200.2
90 percent of the time it is running at 194.6

Yes, it would be used to pull a vac on the refrigerant system after a repair before putting back in the refrigerant for the AC.

Mine was always centered even the whole summer of 2016 in Columbia sc, which was one of their hottest summers on record, averaged over 100 for almost 3 weeks straight and never an issue..hope it works out for you..

Another thing I remember someone was saying one of the coolant pipes was plastic and was cracking behind the motor or some hard to reach spot. Might want to smell around and check your level. Anything could be possible

Those conditions are near worst case scenario. The lack of airflow is huge. Without it the cooling devices don't work. Not saying it's acceptable though.

I would put a torque pro app on it and see the actual temp rather than rely on a $5 gauge.
It could be within spec for these temps.
We need the actual temp of the coolant, outside temp, ac on ? etc etc etc.
You expect it to stay center at 100 standstill in traffic with ac on ?

Yea sorry, im not that mechanically tech savvy. While I understand your point, it doesnt excuse that a new truck like this would have as many issues as ive been having with it as of late, including this.
