I always laugh once the weather turns from winter to spring and it'll be 65* outside and you see a guy 50lbs overweight doing yardwork with his shirt off. I just don't get it haha, not even that hot out and no one wants to see that shit.

Now today it's hot, but still, don't need to see that shit haha

Same. I'm not a big fat guy, but I still keep my shirt on when I'm doing yard work because I figure there's still nobody interested

If it's too hot for me to do yardwork with a shirt on, then that most likely means it's too hot to do yardwork and I'll come back in the morning or evening when the temps cool off

I'm the same at this point. Pretty much everything that went wrong on the Tacoma was a consequence of something else I did.

The Ford is and will probably stay stock. I've added a few OEM parts (brake controller, mudflaps) and played with Forscan a bit, but that's about it. The only non-OEM part I've added is the tonneau cover and I don't think that counts. I'll also put more aggressive tires on it before winter, or buy another set of OEM wheels and snow tires. Haven't decided what route I want to go yet.

Other than the temp sensor that was bad right away, the only issue I have is the leaf springs making noises. I almost don't blame Ford for that, I think it's just my luck with leaf springs. The Tacoma was an ongoing battle with all three sets it had. I figure I'll clean them up one more time and if they make noise after that I'll nag Johnson's and see if they can get Ford to swap them, or replace the isolator pads, or whatever piece of them it is that's making noise.

I modded my GMC more than I have ever modded a truck before! Line-X the bed, a tonneau cover and Weather tech mats. World star!

This is the first vehicle I have had that I didn't get WeatherTech mats for. The Ford OEM ones were significantly cheaper so I ordered them with the truck. The front ones are pretty good, they're actual liners. The back one is one giant mat, but with the flat floor I'm not sure how much you could actually do with a liner anyway.

Damn... that's terrible. Sounds like the dealership really f'd y our truck up bad!

On another note, make sure diesel is right for you. The gas models actually have a higher payload because they have a much lighter engine (same GVWR, the diesel engine just weighs more). Obviously, a diesel will tow better overall but, for short trips at relatively slow speeds, a gas will do great and will actually cope better with shorter drives than an oil burner. Diesels also come with some staggering maintenance concerns. An out of warranty repair on one of those can be huge money. Diesels are great, just make sure it's the right choice for what you intend to do with it.
To get the high output Cummins (the 900 ft-lb version), you not only need to get an auto, but you have to opt for the $3-4k upgraded Aisin tranny also. Dodge won't give you the high output Cummins in front of any of their transmissions (which in itself should tell you something).

I actually really liked the carpet delete that my F150 came with. I always end up with swamp carpets in my trucks during the winter from all of the snow melt just sitting, even with good deep floor mats, and the carpet delete totally eliminated that problem.

Did the vinyl actually drain though? The old vehicles, the vinyl floor would pitch toward the doors so water would run out. New vehicles all have foot wells so the water can't go anywhere.

Yeah, the floor still had the padding underneath the vinyl, so it was level with or maybe even a little higher than the door sill, so it could escape.

    Edit:
I didn't have the fancy King ranch version, but this is what the setup was.

I prefer to think of my paleness as a defense mechanism. I remove my shirt and blind the enemy in order to give myself time to escape

Or you could be like a sand chameleon, if the sand was pale enough. :notsure:

That's interesting. The configurator wouldn't let me build a 302a XLT that way--it was limited to the 301a. Forgot to have the dealer see if their ordering form would take it or not.

Well, I am in the camp of if you want to take it off, then go for it. If I worried about what others thought, I wouldn't get out of bed. I am fat and happy, and yes I worry about being harpooned at the beach, so I don't go during tourist season. I prefer to go inland where I am more likely to be confused with a bear.

Seriously, I sweat so bad that I soak through shirts in the dead of winter. In this weather, 5 minutes moving and I am declared the winner in any wet t-shirt contest.

Recently my friends sent me these as they reminded them of me.
