Just got the TSB completed on my '17 today and I immediately noticed a huge difference in how the truck drives. Acceleration seems more linear and the gear shifts are markedly smoother, especially when slowing to a stop. Definitely liking my truck a lot better after today. If you're on the fence about doing the update, don't hesitate.

Thank you for this update Sir. Which TSB did they preform out of curiosity. I know both will take care of same issues.

Got it done today in htx and ya makes a difference. No hassle just had to drop it off. I reviewed my dash cam and the tech drove it around the block before and after the update and didn't notice any crazy driving. They took care of my truck and even washed it.

Lucky you! I tried this a couple of days ago. Service department claims “we have to have a smoking gun” (there has to be a problem that THEY can detect) before “Toyota will allow us to (apply this TSB)”. So I tried, and got nowhere. 2 hours of my life I can never get back. What does a guy have to do in such a situation??

I got mine done yesterday. It took about 10 minutes. I found mine to slightly hesitate somewhat frequently. Now, it stumbles much less frequently and in many situations seems to have a LOT more power. However it stumbled much bigger twice yesterday..

20k mile service appointment next Thursday at Joel Confer Toyota in State College, PA. Told them I have noticed shifting issues and have a TSB that I'd like applied so we will see what they say when i take it in. Also my passenger side mirror vibrates like MAD at highway speeds and I can't even look at it. Going to have them change the turn signal to 5 blinks and turn off the seat belt chime (hate it when I'm hunting and just moving around back country)!!!

I really want to do this TSB update, but also really hate dealing with the dealership. I have Techstream and a cable, so I could just do it myself since the files have been posted here on the forums. My only concern is that if something comes up where there will be a recall or issue while under warranty, if that part of the warranty will be void since the update wasn't done and documented by Toyota. Still considering the possibility of dumping this truck for the Ranger Raptor once its available, but that's to be determined later. If this ECU TSB update really makes the Tacoma drive like it should, then its a keeper for sure.

Called my dealership and they said the TSB doesn't exist in their system? Probably gonna try John Elway and see if they can do it for me.

So is there a fix for us Canadian guys? Briefly read something the other day but never saved it, woke up this morning to water on passenger floor coming from the a-pillar where the oh shit bar should be... now I have a service appointment and would like to get this update. Get 2 birds stoned at once. Don’t have the time to scroll through 27 pages. Thanks guys!

I also got the same response from my dealership, "doesn't exist in their system"....

Has anybody else gotten the same response?
