    I thought about the same thing. A dashcam that mounted to the GoPro mount.

    After toying with it, I realized that a small camera behind the mirror would be less of a bait issue to a crook and wouldn't be in the way. I went with the same camera (actually a cheaper clone) as in the link. Works great.

    i have a go pro already and i have a setup cable to connect to the rear cam as well.
    due to health problems all of these are just sitting collecting dust.

    My wife just bought me a grdian defendr+ for xmas. https://www.grdian.com I'm in no way affiliated with them. Its a just nice little, compact camera with a super capicitor instead of a battery. Has shock sensor, looping obviously and can take a big memory card. It also does wifi to your phone or computer for easy video retrieval. My buddy has one that works well, but with it being -40 here right now in Sask - it'll be a bit before i install it.
