That is one serious odyssey, and i hope you get the chance to do it.
One bit of advise, bug spray. Mosquito season in Alaska is pretty fricking epic. Makes FL bugs look tame.

I wonder if the gray matches the magnetic gray metallic. Doubtful but it would be cool to do a paint match and "raptor lights" all at once lol

Some guy (jbon893) with a 3rd gen bought and installed one, I havent been able to find a 2nd gen with it though. Pics are at night but it almost looks flat black/dark grey to me. I am reluctant thus far because I am not sure how off black it would be on my black truck.

That looks sick! Looks like I might have to bite the bullet for the team lol (BTW it looks gray more than black, I messaged seller to get their opinion on how close of a match it is).

it's probably close to the stock OEM unpainted plastic color, which is a grey/black. I wonder if you can separate the grill from the surround like on stock grills?
I like it, but I want to keep my MGM stoneguard surround. I'm not painting another surround.

It does look way more grey in the ebay images and looks slightly off from the 3rd gen black front end in that pic now that I look at it. I am in for hearing the output and seeing your experience with it. like I said I really like it but am on the fence about the lights.

I would probably just wire the lights to a relay instead of my headlights since it doesn't look like it comes with an inline adapter to plug and play with the stock headlights. I don't like messing with stock headlight wiring mainly because I have had too many bad experiences in the past.

I read on the gen 3 thread for the grill that some of the guys were tapping into a fuse in the fuse box instead of the headlights. Seems like it would be an easy tap-in

I am currently building my aux fuse box and anticipated a relay tapped to a switched fuse so when the truck turns on these would turn on. My running lights come on the moment I put it in drive anyways so these would just turn on with the truck if I went that route.

I had read some guys were trying to tap into the running lights wires and someone accidentally tapped into the blinker wire so 2 would blink with the one blinker then 1 blinked with the other blinker and it looked odd. I don't remember where I read that but I thought it was hilarious.

For my accessory lights, I tap the side marker light circuit to activate a relay. I'm not up for running wires all the way to the dash.
