WRX vs Taco wouldn't have ended well for me. If I'd been in my truck, I'm sure I would have torn him a new one, since it doesn't stop nearly as well.

Sorry about this man. You're a good man, but the decision should be both of yours. Learn the disease and treatment effectiveness, factor in pain/suffering from treatments. Look at it as either way, you're doing what's right by the dog and yourself. It makes the decision easier and less regrettable no matter what you choose.

I don't have much to give you on pros/cons, but I will say that I only have 2 regrets on purchasing my current Tacoma and not having MT is one of them. The other regret is it wasn't my first color choice, but I was shopping specifically for a '17 and there weren't any left nearby in the configuration/color I wanted. I also drive a 2 hour commute round trip Mon-Fri, so the MT was some cause for concern, but I still wish I would have went with it. I really miss driving a standard trans. As an added bonus if I had gotten the MT, my truck wouldn't have come with crawl control. I have never used that gizmo, and it will probably be super expensive to fix if it ever fails.

 

I'm sorry, that no fun.
