Key delete. I had been meaning to do this for some time. Need to do some actual testing while driving. Driveway testing is promising, though.

I need to have the fob (transponder) near the ignition switch in order to start the truck, which is to be expected. Moving it away from the ignition after starting killed the engine one time, but did not kill the engine three or four other times. I plan on figuring out some mounting solution for the fob near the ignition switch.

EDIT: Now with 100% more pics.

I won’t actually need to cut that much at all. I will have a 6” BDS Suspension System installed on my truck as well. I’m planning on doing the CMC and most likely pinch weld.

I would do some research first. Windshields with their double-pane-laminate-sandwich do a pretty good job blocking UVA, it is the side windows not having tint that are the main weakness. Some people swear by the front tints, I would just like to see some hard data on % blocked for both.

Alright doll-face, c'mon and bore me!

Big thumbs up here. I'm glad someone else hates the fob-keys as much as I do and has tried this. It would have taken me forever to get around to it.

Got the "official" email yesterday from AJT announcing their (his) (even bulkier) version of the key-fob. I will wait patiently for one with a retractable or folding key.

I'm interpreting this as "and wire" (I'm still learning cellphone speak).

Looks good with the white lettering out on a white truck. When I get mine I was debating on whether to put them out or leave them black wall. I like the white. Good looking Taco

It did take me forever to get around to it. I was actually inspired to do so after watching the dismantle video on the AJT product page. On a related note, I don't think I will be purchasing the AJT fob due to its size and the risk of damaging the transponder in the process of removing it. If it were to bring retractability or key folding to the table I would probably jump on it.

I am thinking about breaking out the Dremel to trim away some plastic on the fob. I think I could use the key itself as my fob holder while the key is in the ignition.

I'm not knocking it (looks well thought-out and nicely implemented), but that's $300 worth of lights, right there. Plus... :spending:
