Welcome and keep reading to become paranoid about what else may be wrong with our trucks.

    Thanks...I think HA HA!

This is a legit issue I feel, granted I came from a Tundra with a AT 3 Speed with 4th as OD on a 4.7L V8.....about 16MPG HIGHWAY was my average NO STUMBLE

Awesome, let us know what they say/do. My truck is 3 weeks old and one dealer already told me "it already has the update" which I dont think is true. I am getting a second opinion at another dealership next week.

Are you going to bring them the TSB 0058-18 as well?

Will do & I plan to see them update the ECM with T-SB-0062-18 EG1811 : NOT EG1810 or T-SB 0058-18 which is for the surge at 40-50MPH

For those dealers saying that they have to replicate the problem, are they planning on taking your truck to a high altitude area?

Seems like you could simply say, I like to take my trucks on mountain trips, and have experienced this issue in high altitude areas.

like I said, originally my service writer tried to balk at doing it, even though I had the printed TSB directly from Toyota. he said they need to replicate the issue. I told him unless he is going to drive my truck to the mountains which I did not approve, he probably wouldn't be able to replicate the issue. a few more words were said he told he would see what he could do. he called me back about 30 mins later and told me he got it done for me. they drove my truck a total of 3 miles to "replicate" it, so I know they didn't go to the mountains. but they did perform the TSB like Toyota suggested. my truck has been a 1000 times better ever since. honestly feels like they installed some sort of tune in it, it is that big of a difference.

Did the tsb last week while my truck was at dealer. Shifting smoother for sure and got rid of the dead spot on wot from a stop. Feels much safer

Got the truck back and took it on a 20 mile loop. This is exactly what it needed and I am very happy about it.

    How I feel about it:

    - Dead pedal feel is much less now
    - Drive mode now feels like a slight mixture of ECT and D
    - Throttle response has slightly improved
    - Shifts a tad bit higher
    - The lack of low end torque has been improved
    - Hard to say about MPG, could improve could also see it going down just a tad
    - Jumps faster when you floor it (what I am trying to say with this, is I think the throttle body may be opening a little faster)
    - Truck seems to idle better with AC on in heat

This is what I gathered with about 45 min driving. Overall I think Toyota tried making this tune just a tad more aggressive. Would not say the truck is faster though, just more of a connected driving experience if that makes sense. Would I recommend it to someone? Probably.

Had that done on my truck at the dealer this past Saturday, can’t say I have noticed a big difference yet but I also just added the SSP v2 since the version one I had was replaced under warranty and version 2 really makes the truck run strong now, I can tell a difference more with the SSP than with the tsb just done..

    Hi everyone,

I’ve been lurking the forum for a few months now; just got my taco at the end of May.

I too feel the issues in the transmission and have scheduled an appointment with my dealer for my 5,000 mike service and the TSB update. However, what I would like to know that no one has been mentioning is how does the truck feel and react now with ECT PWR turned on?

What I’m getting at is this: if Toyota is doing this update but the ECT PWR “tune” does not get updated with the TSB, is this update making it less noticeable and less needed? I hope they are updating this as well. Not that it’s “needed” because it works well, but if it feels and acts the same as the normal transmission (with the update), is the ECT PWR option even needed?

    Just a thought...

ECT button is what we used to call turning off the overdrive. Still used for towing to avoid higg gears.

I got mine done yesterday. It took about 10 minutes. I found mine to slightly hesitate somewhat frequently. Now, it stumbles much less frequently and in many situations seems to have a LOT more power. However it stumbled much bigger twice yesterday..

How so? That's not what folks on here are saying. Just want to ensure we have the most accurate detail for anyone going in for the TSB.

Were the stumbles before or after the TSB update yesterday?

I read through the original TSB 62-18 post and read it there. I read it in the TSB 58-18 post. I got mine done yesterday and received TSB 58-18 and asked the tech about 62-18 and he said it was the same

Same file if you look at both PDFs. One has a rev1 update to include 2018s

It stumbled frequently before. It stumbled less frequently afterwards but the two stumbles in 70 miles were harder stumbles than I had before.
