ATO skid arrived! Prep to install...

Damn this thing is heavy! I am using some Rustoleum enamel that I picked up from Lowes. Here is how it looks so far.






*Yes I did paint this on my apartment balcony

I have it set to dry it should be ready to install by tomorrow afternoon.

 

Dude, are you have to clear coat that & buff it before you put it on. You don't want an almost-matches-skid-plate!

Whats wrong with a red skid plate?

 

I will have pics of the old one tomorrow. You will see why it doesn't need to match. I use my skid plates.

 

Well....
#1 if you don't paint it correctly it will miss match and look like crap
#2 if you paint it correctly it screams bling
#3 Bling = I bought it for looks
#4 If you bought it for looks why would you buy the biggest heaviest skid on the market?

On the other hand maybe he uses it as intended and has a paint fetish.
I for one like busting up my skid then spending 30 seconds touching it up with a can of rustolium......Just saying

 

haha. You want to make sure anybody can find you in case of anything. Just follow the red on the rocks.

I used Rustoleum. So it will take 30 seconds to touch up. Its just painted red, not black.

 

My bad, thought you were trying to match it. I guess #1 is still there....Like I said just sayin....BTW ATO has been good to me, kevin's a good guy.

 

The skid was harder to install than I thought. I didn't know the braces had to be removed until I started. I will let the pictures speak for themselves.
