No mechanical mods. Minor convience and useability tweaks.
I bought a used 2015 TRD sport, 4x4, access cab recently. When I changed the engine oil, I noticed that the metal splash shield/skid plate is considerably shorter that the one that was on my 1999 GEN 1. The GEN 1 was actually two pieces that were bolted together to make one piece. On my GEN 2, I can see two threaded holes where the rear edge of the second shield would attach. Was the second shield part of the "off road" package and deleted from the "sport" package? Was the second shield deleted on all GEN 2 trucks? Would some people who have GEN 2 Sports take a quick look under their trucks and let me know what they see? My front shield is about 18" long (front to rear), the 2nd shield would be another 18' long, for a total length of approximately 36".
    Thanx

Correct the second shield part of the "off road" package and on the "Pro" models, Sport and SR5 models didn't come standard with the 2nd splash shield.

Thanks...I was scratching my head about that one. I'll probably put one on, just to help keep some of the road splooge out of there. Anybody got one that they are getting rid of?

"Skid plate" not splash guard. Splash guards cover the engine bay from debris from wheels.

Is there a part number for this skid plate?
I have a sport and would like to add this
