Intermittent overheating, AC blows warm

If it only happens when stopped look at the blower fan. Had a similar issue on a 96 accord where would overheat while stopped but fine when driving. The fan should push more than enough air during operation to keep temps perfect unless you are in some extreme (over 120) heat.

 

I guess this with the vacuum pump, my dealers going to have a bill around $2500 just in parts.

 

No idea, not my wallet thankfully.

 

I would guess they will probably tell him the same old "it's normal" line and send him on his way.

Curious, 108 F outside and testing it didnt amount to much. What is the dealer going to check? Let it idle for 3 hrs?

 

or maybe they will fix it and give him a free extended Platinum warranty for his troubles

Glad they are doing something about it. Even though your problem is what all my Jeeps do, I was thinking this was just normal.

 

Normal for a jeep, yes. A tacoma..... NO!

 

i hate even being in stop and go traffic, stuck in 3 hours of not moving, not sure I could handle that.

Update: Dealership could not duplicate. Cancelled my TSBs and told me to call Toyota to complain.

 

Opened a case with Toyota. Their easier to talk to than my dealership. Will keep this updated.

My buddy actually ended up with an unlimited mile 10 year warranty on his Q50 Hybrid from all the crap he dealt with. Not seeing this in my future, but it does happen.

Right, there were actually a few guys on here that got extended warranties for having issues too, I unfortunately don't think they are going to hook you up though, but hope I am wrong on that.
