2.5 inch body lift and 33's

Had my 2002 taco for about a year and I am ready to throw a lift on it.

I do not go four wheeling or anything of the sort so I dont need all the flex and crap that comes with it.

Thinking of doing this setup.

what rims are you putting the tires on?

 

I had planned to use the stockers if possible? sorry I dont know much about the sizing of them thats why I wanted to post here before pulling the trigger.

Its basically my beat around town truck and run errands to the dump. I just wanted it to look a little cooler haha.

I read on here that the stock offset is what causes the issues with rubbing but I wasnt sure which wheels that affected.

 

Nothing wrong with looking cooler. You'll need to get the offset right to keep those tires off your frame and possibly your UCA. I run a 285/75 now on a 16x7 2000ish 4Runner Limited rim. The offset is +15mm. Barely cleared my UCA and the frame rub at full lock in both directions was intolerable. I'm running a 1" spacer (which puts my offset around -10) and I get just the slightest frame rub turning left.

Offset is usually noted on the inside of the rim.

 

Those are +15 also. You'll need spacers. 1" will work fine. If you want them to poke out a bit more, you can run a 1.25".

I am also not against getting a different rim if needed (like you did). Im sure I can find a set pretty cheap used.

 

Oh cool so you are saying that I can just run my stockers with a one inch spacer? That would be perfect!

 

I have the same size tire on the same size rim and that's what I had to do. You'll probably have a little more clearance since the tire is an AT. MTs tend to be a little bigger than the size noted on the side wall when they're new.

If you wants body lift I recommend looking at the 4 crawler one

 

backspacing he should be looking at for frame clearance

 

amounts to the same thing since BS and offset are related.

 

Sheesh, Now I cant figure out which lift to go with. Im not looking to spend a ton of money since this is my beater truck but I dont want to get a junky lift either!

Is there something similarly priced (but better quality) that I am not seeing?

 

related but can be very different depending on wheel width and sometimes the design of wheel itself

first kit is better but only a little. uses a coil spacer not just a big strut spacer

 

Yea the first kit also has grease-able shackles.

Not sure how important that is.
