If it were available and cash wasn't an issue at the time of release, I probably would have no issue. Everyone cares for their warranty, but there are folks who accept the consequences. All my previous brand new cars were modded after break in. It could be the community of cars you are in, but many folks do so. Intakes, down pipes, tunes, larger turbos, intercoolers, and so forth. I am the type that understand and accept that if anything were to go sour, I would have to live with the consequences. It would probably be smart to follow and read the documenting and testing of each product's release to make a judgement if the product is quality and safe.

They ran a canned tune?!?!? I can't believe how many people do that, you spend all this money on a supercharger then skimp out on $500 of dyno time, the most important part.

I tread lightly around forced induction. It left a bad taste in my mouth when my Supra cracked its block, resurfaced, then had two head gasket leaks and then another cracked block. Never good when your car spews radiator fluid because of a stuck thermo and you see exhaust smoke spewing blue due to radiator fluid leaking in and burning...something simple as a head gasket leak or stuck thermo can cost you dearly coupled with an engine with forced induction. You take the blame and responsibility for repair and it’s not cheap. I had nightmares and lost sleep over that engine. When I traded it in years ago, the mechanic that test drove it said this thing feels like it’s only using 4 out of 6 cylinders when mashing the pedal. I didn’t say anything...they took it and shockingly gave me a decent amount for it. Turned not in for 2000 civic SI back then. VTEC sounded great with an intake and exhaust but never did it for me the way the Supra targa top did...

I feel like (only my opinion) but if the engine wasn’t designed to handle forced induction from an OEM, you better not be in it for longevity. I could be wrong but would love to know what’s the highest amount of miles and car with forced induction and original owner has reached? I know as Porsche’s age, they aren’t exempt either...and that’s with an OEM forced induction.

By the time you add all that to your truck you'll need it just to get it down the road in a decent manner

I hear ya. Many folks run into issues regardless of great manufacturing or great testing before product release. Every car, naturally aspirated or forced induction, will eventually run out it's own life. It's up to the owner to determine if they can deal with it. I came from a Subaru WRX 2015 that I had put nearly 70k on with mods. That is a considerable higher millage MY15 Subaru. Never had any issues. There have been several examples of same cars making only 5k miles. While no one expects such a premature failure, it happens a lot. Look into discussions of how many STI have engine failures. Lol!

Good regular maintenance and quality tune is key to a long life boosted motor. Also it helps that the owner doesn't mash the pedal from stop light to stop lights. Proper cool down is another thing to watch for. I could go on!!! I have boosted plenty LS1,LS2, Honda B-series motors, and rotaries. Proper maintenance and tune is key to a long life boosted motor.

Waiting for you to drop that V8 in for $4,000 and I’m sure everyone will follow!

My point being it’s a lot of money and was seeing if people think it’s worth it

Just depends how much that extra power is worth to you. That's entirely different from person to person and case to case. It's not even close to worth it for 99% of Tacoma owners. But for some in that 1% it's easily worth the price paid.

Every time supercharger gets mentioned I get excited. But then the reality sets in and I realize I live in California...and that makes me sad.

I would imagine around 30% horsepower and torque increase and $5000-$5800 USD for the kit.
