And every other thread on this site is the reason you shouldn't. So many complaints about the auto transmission

The complaints are from people who buy a truck expecting it to shift like a sports car. I’ve never had an issue and most of the “issues” are people just being too picky. If I had an issue with my automatic it would be covered by the warranty that can’t be said for a manual tho.

Picky???? I don't think so..... when you step on the gas you expect to go..... this truck has to think about the input you just gave it for up to 3 seconds, before it finally makes a decision and then half way through it second guesses itself.

Really anyone that can’t drive a MT. I had to wait 5 months to order my MT. I could have picked up a AT that day. A Tacoma is meant to be a MT same as a Jeep

OP, maybe you can pass along the Dealers Diagnostic Report Findings? Just curious, after all this is not a cheap repair to do.

I drove a MT for almost 30 years. I still own one in fact, just not a tacoma. In Los Angeles, having a manual is just kinda stupid. To much traffic, stop signs at every corner on residential and a traffic light at every other block on most city streets. The freeway..... well fuck the freeway.... stop and go for 3 hours. No thanks

My pair hang just fine bud. Thanks for caring. I love driving a manual as long as I am not having to make a commute of it. I used to be a courier for medical supplies and IV medications. I ran 2 Honda crx's into the ground. Put Over a 100k miles on both in just a few years. I have done my time in the trenches and just simply choose not to make a MT my DD.

The first one lost its transmission at 120k, had new bearings put in it. Never went over 80 again. The second one had a coil pack issue..... cost me so much money it wasn't even funny. 500 bucks per coil pack and I blew 4 of them. Destroyed the cat on it so it was straight piped and was to never pass smog again. Just didn't have the time or funds to fix them as I was not as mechanically inclined as I am now. I rode then hard and put them away wet. Down shifting from 5th to second was super fun... could basically hit a 90 degree or hairpin turn like that.
Edit.... I also jumped one of them over a 2 foot curb/center island and off roaded with it in California city. It didn't like that at all.
