Think you just need technician to start. You can take the next tests for free while you're there for the technician though if your prepared .

 

Is it worth taking anything more than the technician for what we’ll be doing?

 

I believe we will all just be taking the Technician class so we can get started. Unless you want to prepare for the general and take it too while you're there. I'm sure with what the Extra will allow you to do it will just cost you more money in the end buying the gear to use what you have a license for with it. Haha

Phillip, check your email to make sure your radio buy went through. I'm in the process of a refund with mine.

 

I believe above the Technician you can use the radio to communicate through satellites also. That may be the Extra though. I think we will pretty much be limited to 2m radio with Technician.

 

Ah. Well I’m only really concerned with using this radio for wheeling purposes so I should be alright.

Hell, I haven't touched a CB since I was around 5. My grandfather was big into CB's. They called him "the chauffeur" which was funny b/c he had been blind since my dad was 2

I may get a different radio that needs a different antenna so I may have a antenna available for you or one of the other guys if you want it.

He also gave this advice

The key with this app is to just take the practice quiz by section. It highlights the right answer. Do it 3-4 times until the answers become familiar. Then move on.

There's 35 sections with sub parts. They're grouped by type of info. Some is general info. Some is tech stuff .Some is math stuff. But they can only take one question from a section. So if you suck at math, guess what, there's only a couple questions you might see on the test math related.

I believe it's a 35 question test and you can get 7 wrong.

I touch one a few times a week lol. I never even used one till i started wheelin with this group lol.

 

In all honesty, mine will be more of a toy and I just didn't want to get left out

Did you see in the notes that the test bank was for 2014 and doesn't;t look to be updated for the new questions?

 

No. I haven't even opened the app.
