I'd like to see a leaf sprung and linked truck get all dialed in and go head to head and see when the links start to make a difference - I'm not debating whether they're an improvement, that would be silly, but to see side by side / AB testing.

This time next year. After @dirt addiction buulds his house and I get front bypasses and dial everything in. I'll go head to head with him.

Could look at lap times and average speed of a 2000 class truck vs a 1450 truck for a race. The linked trucks are pretty darn fast.

I guess I wanted to see the suspension working in a video from the side of a vehicle so you could start to see when and how the springs can't keep the wheels where they should be and links do. I like seeing testing - guess it's the old engineering student in me :anonymous:

Yes, exactly. I don't know how well the shocks were dialed in on the dmz kit (not saying they were are they weren't). That's why I'd like to see a couple of really well built trucks with a shock tuner dialing them in if / as needed on an easy to film location. It would be cool to slow the video down and watch what's happening. Not trying to prove stuff, just to watch. I guess it's just my thing

Far as butt dyno goes with the tundra my buddy and I race...links are just soo much smoother no harsh hits and wierd spring rate bucking like you get with leaf springs...its hard to explain. You can just plow shit soo much harder with links

2000 and 1450 are not the same trucks. 2000 has bolt on front suspension. 1450 is unlimited.
When we went from a 7s truck to 1450 there was no comparison. Now my buddies Tundra is under bed linked with TC front and I'm TC front with Deavers. Our trucks are very much the same.
What are we/you doing with our trucks? Most of the reads on here is "I'm building", "he's building", "his dick is bigger than mine". What a load of crap. I'm out at least once a month beating the crap out of my truck. I think I'm done with this thread for a while. Where's the unfollow button

The biggest thing with links is it puts the power to the ground and isn't lost with axle wrap. The next thing that usually makes links smoother is the motion ratio. Lastly the faster rebound that you can get with links due to the motion ratio makes a world of a difference too. That being said when I raced with leafs back in the day I was able to blow the doors off a lot of linked truck. I missed fastest lap in 1450 by 1 mintute. That was with a v6 against linked v8s

It's kinda like what happened to DR. Everyone thinks they need a throphy truck to go play in the dirt. Some of the best times I have had is with a tc kit and some half ass rear suspension. Run what you got and have a good time.
