I like this plan. Strip it and sell those parts, put monies towards principal along with any other cash you have.

Then buy all the parts again?
Just to sell them/the truck again when I need a full size down the road

What is the goal right now. Debt reduction or fun truck? It would still be capable stock.

Yup it's crazy that society makes you think you deserve it an shit.
We're making killer progress to where we want to be. Selling the truck bumps me 8 months ahead of schedule not counting the minimum $500 a month I can throw elsewhere. Cutting that down.
The selling decision is made unfortunately for those who think "it's a bad idea and I'll regret it"

I don’t think you’ll regret it. You need to get out of debt obviously. But if your first mod to a 18 year old Daily is $2k crawl box, then I am slightly judging your decision making haha

Not to bad. I think it's a scupper on the flat section of my roof.

    Goal now is debt reduction.

but why would I sell all aftermarket parts that are paid for. Cheaper than what I paid to turn around and in 18-24 months buy them all again. It makes 0 sense.
As I've said before there's no need for 2 of the same trucks bottom line. And I'm not selling the 4Runner cause it's light years nicer than the truck.

So buy a 1st gen drive it till I have play $ (18-24 months) then start building it.
I don't have time to go out now as it is. I'm working 2 jobs just about every day of the week. And as you said stock is capable especially for what I have been doing.

I had a great mentor in the Marine Corps . He gave me a great analogy. "When you get in a pool or go to the beach do you go to the deep end and thread water the whole time or do you walk in to a comfortable depth and hang out there? You can't thread water for ever you will eventually drown. It's better to live comfortably". Sgtmaj Torres USMC.

Late night snack part of my going to work ritual. IMG_20180809_001727210.jpg

IMHO I would get a 1st gen at the end of that time frame. Get a 1000-2000 corolla or civic. Use that for daily needs. Drive the current 4runner for long trips or exploring. Again IMHO. Why get an 8k ish truck now?

Good analogy! My parents always provided but we lived frugaly and they still managed to save a nice amount and they are able to enjoy their retirement now. My first job out of college I made more then them combined. It is easy to fall in that trap. So now I pay myself first, meaning it is taken right out of my pay check so I never see it. Still have enough to pay bills and enjoy life a little.
Pie looks amazing, getting ready for bed but that would hit the spot.

Is if flat there? We live up a hill. I work nights and come home when roads are not plowed. My neighborhood sometimes takes 2 days to get plowed to the point if I don't put the truck in 4 wheel I can't get to my driveway.

Trust me I've thought of this.
I'm not against a car whatsoever I'm just worried winter will be an issue.
