I am thinking of going with the 1.5 inch spacers so that I dont have to grind down the studs.

do you think that will make the wheels stick out too much? I assume it help better with the contact if any exists.

The earth will explode if you do a body lift.

Are you planning on installing the body lift yourself? I ask because the price for a body lift install is probably going to be around $1000.

I think he meant spacer lift. Not a body lift.

Of course. It’s a strut spacer and shackles lift btw.

If you have some basic mechanical ability and the knowledge of how to safely secure a jacked up truck, you can do this yourself in a short afternoon

^ wheel spacers are pretty much like changing a tire, unless the come with longer studs that you have to press in but that's kinda rare.

I didn't have to grind anything, but they may depend on the design of the rim's backside. A 1.5" spacer on your rim would change the offset from +15 to -23. IMO, that's a bit much.

EDIT: I don't believe the studs protrude beyond the mating surface between the spacer and rim. A 3/4" spacer might have that problem.

Even with hands tools, removing your wheels, installing the spacers, and replacing your wheels can be done in an hour (including a beer break). With air tools, maybe 20 minutes. That shop wants to take you for a ride.

Right. But for any given rim size, changing one value changes the other. And we're talking specifically about how to get his 16x7 with +15 offset to fit properly with a 285/75 tire. A 16x8 rim with the proper offset would be better solution, but I don't think he's interested in buying rims.

I diddnt say that I couldn’t install the spacers. I said that they charge 300 for just the spacer which imho is crazy expensive

The distributor on Amazon and the shop
Both mentioned that 1 inch would be an issue.

Are you absolutely positive of this?

I wouldn't trust that shop. I think I would remember grinding the studs. I can pull a wheel off and show you, but you'll have to wait until I get home.

Most cheap lifts, like this one, are what I consider 'junk lifts'.
They create new problems, that end up costing more money in the long run.
The more lift, the more problems that are created.

The ride will be stiffer because the shackle angle will be more vertical.
The rear axle could be noticeably pushed forward (cosmetic issue).
The rear shocks and flexible brake-line will be too short,
If your rig is 4wd, the CV angles will more severe, causing them to wear prematurely.

Welcome to the exciting world of lifting.

Just my 2 cents worth. :D
