The edge itself doesn't bother me, but I do not like the Chimney. That is the only spot that feels like I could make a wrong move and have a very long fall.

Yeah, well, I'm not big on heights. I've hiked Knife's Edge before in pea soup fog and it was fine, but on a clear day my heart's running 2500rpm.

I would definitely not suggest doing the loop in reverse, then. I got to the Chimney from the other side and considered turning around and adding lots of time to my hike rather than doing that drop. I know I paused quite a bit to decide every new movement too.

It wasn't as bad from the other side, that or I'm getting older and have a stronger instinct for self preservation now.

I do feel like I've lived every time I do that, though. That mountain is so much fun, and the views are incredible.

For those of you who don't know what we're talking about, this is the edge:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DWA0NTUhds

The first 10 minutes of that is the drop down into and climb out of the Chimney from the easier side.

This is a little clearer of the edge itself:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmaVqyKos_o

The comments on that second video say it's not really as bad as that makes it look, but I think it's more the fact that once you're up there, you've got adrenaline or something and the perception is different. Sitting in a chair nowhere near the place and seeing people starting off on it makes it seem worse.

If you enjoy the Knife's Edge you should definitely hike Angel's Landing if you're ever in Zion. Spent the majority of the hike terrified, but it the views were spectacular.

I took these two shots just by sticking my arm out over the edge of the trail, though. That was unnerving.

I was standing where the trail in the left curves over to the edge when I took the previous two photos.

1000 feet straight down from that spot, easy, but no railings or anything, just a bunch of signs telling you that you're responsible for your own safety.

Yep. If the GF had told me beforehand what I was getting into, I'd never have agreed to the hike. The worst part was hauling yourself over slippery sandstone with a death grip on a chain hooked to the rock face, with a 1500 foot drop if you slipped. Especially when you met people going in the other direction and had to climb over them.

I want a compact badly. Pricey though that’s the hard part. I’d love to be able use it in the winter to plow and remove snow from the driveway. Having a 200 FR driveway is miserable with a snowblower. Plus I have quite a few flower gardens and other small projects it would be handy for

If you're handy you can find one that needs a little work for relatively cheap. I bought my Kubota for $3500 because the wiring had gotten "mouse'd" and repaired incorrectly, so a bunch of stuff didn't work. Went through it all and replaced/rerouted everything that needed it, worked it for 5 years, then sold it, added another $1000 from my savings, and upgraded to the current rig.

That’s not bad at all. Considering new they go for 15-20g. I’d ultimately use it for my mower as well since I haven’t purchased a mower since I bought this house. My FIL have been sharing his John Deere 500 series so I haven’t really been in a rush to get anything

The full story is even better, lol. I started out by buying a snowblower that didn't run for $100, fixed it and traded it even for a 50's Case tractor (that also didn't run) from a guy who didn't understand a points ignition system so he kept throwing parts at it not realizing that the points just needed a file job. I got it running, kept it for a year or so and sold it when we moved for $2500. Put that $$ and another $1000 the Kubota. So if you keep an eye out on Craigslist good deals pop up pretty frequently.

No way. I'd sit my ass down on the trail, they'd either have to literally climb over me or turn the F around.

Just committed so many wiring sins putting in the new ditch lights. I was supposed to be in bed 2 hours ago. And I'm actually to warm to drink beer right now.

But hey. Now I can actually see the deer running at me, before I swerve off the road .

Haha . Well. I have the aux fuse pannel almost done. I need to deburr it, hit it with some paint, tap some holes to under mount the relays, and make two leads from #4 cable and #10x1/4" lugs to connect the breaker and fuse box.

So in the mean time there's this..... I'm not proud. But we are going meteor watching at night this weekend and I wanted them on. And yes, I trimmed the zips.
