The most I have ever personally seen any Operator make a year is a quarter-million. Might have been a career year but my jaw did drop when I saw the paystub.

    -edit-

That's with a metric crap ton of OT, a T/A, and a bonus.

My son just got his first job at Spirit Halloween at Tanglewood Village (Slaughter/Manchaca). So if you see someone dressed as Frankenstein twirling a sign, know that he's making better than $9/hr to do so.

It's all dependant on how much you want to work. Shift work means you were more hours but less days a year than a "eight hour a day five days a week with weekends off" job.

If you work no OT, or minimal OT, you're going to make less than or maybe right at $100,000. OT is where you take in the money. If you work things out just right, you can earn $1200-1500 in a twelve hour shift working a holiday with shift differential, OT, holiday bonus, seventh-day double time.

The drawback is that you're working all the GD time so holidays, time with family and kids, plans, etc. all suffer.

That IS all right. Many people would kill to make that much. You just have to realize that no matter how much you make, someone else is making a whole lot more than you.

I getcha, I’ve been working OT a lot this year but the check has been nice but damn I’m getting burnt out. Granted I do have a job that’s not physically demanding but mentally I gotta be razor sharp for 8-10 hours otherwise people can potentially die if I mess up is the other aspect. Some days I leave here literally just want to look at a pin hole on a wall in total silence.. few far an between though

Out of 168 airports like this one we were 11th busiest in the nation. I’m not on like dfw or Houston status where everything is spoon fed to you it’s a literal hornets nest without any radar. We’ve got pen an paper an binoculars is all.

When I left there last, there was a new quicksand taco at the first building on the left when you pull through the gate. You know them
