Added some more recovery gear to my truck today. Love when Amazon boxes show up! Finally got a hitch shackle, but also ordered a Bubba Gator soft shackle. After seeing what a broken shackle does, I’m going to try and switch over to all soft shackles over time.

    Hardware mounted my Ram mount.

Previously, it was mounted directly under the radio using double-sided foam tape. It was a decent location, but my phone didn't get any airflow and would start to lag due to heat. Phone needs to be near an A/C vent. I had considered the Hondo un-holey mount, decided two holes wouldn't be that bad.

Thanks for the pic and info. Been debating whether to go 35% or 20% in the fronts, because I'll probably leave the rears alone.....

Are the rears 35%? I ask because I had my fronts done a couple weeks ago. I had the shop get as close to the factory tint in the rear as possible. I'm happy with the results, can post some pics if you would like.

Sure, pics from outside and from inside. I can't find the specs again on TacomaWorld somewhere, but I think it said the rears are 20% with Privacy. Same with the Back Window.

    I got stuff on order...
The guy who tinted mine said the rears windows were 30% but I don't know if he's right or not.

He might be right. People are getting readings from 20-whatever to low 30s in terms of percentage, for the rears. I have horrendous night vision and I'm leaning 35% for the fronts, leaving the rears alone. No windshield tint.

    Here you go.

In person, the color difference is less noticeable. I am happy with the level of tint. It is dark enough to help keep the interior a little cooler, but not so dark as to interfere with my ability to see out of the windows at night.

Fascinating. So you did your fronts at 35% and touched nothing else right?

That is correct. Fronts have, what I assume to be, 35% tint and rears have only stock privacy glass, no film.

Suntek CarbonXP or CXP will have a dull near identical color match to the rear windows. I use the #35 because the VLT is rated at 33%. The next one down is #25 but the VLT is only 23% and that will net you a trip to the shop to have it removed.

Here's the specs on their site.

In the photo above, it really only looks this dark in full sunlight from dead on. When I walk to the truck in the covered parking garage at work it is half this dark.

Here's what it looks like when you look at it towards the windshield. Also notice the dash through the rear window for the comparison of how visible things are with the OEM glass only.

    20170708_120912.jpg

    The color is nearly identical.

    Sounding mighty good !!!!

    You are gonna love it.

    Hellsyes !!!!!!

    Well done right there.

I've got the same speaker mod to get done as well. I did the same tweeters early on....now I just need to get the door speakers & deadener handled. CS speakers are sitting in my mod pile awaiting my attentions.

I hear ya on the SC heat & windows. Rainy overcast 4:00PM and it's still 93 degrees.

My truck gets parked in this parking lot for 14 hours at a time in the hot baking SC sun. I'm not sure the exact percentages, but my highly trusted tint guy matched things up well on the front roll downs & windhield. While I know I'm not legal.....I see way, way darker locally and no issues. I went with ceramic Suntek film and couldn't be happier.

The front is nice during night driving....doesn't obscure vision and really cuts down glare from oncoming traffic.

I just got mine tinted and I'm noticing that. I tinted front to match back. When i look over my left shoulder to check the blind spot, it's obvious. I'll have to ask what the percentage was.

I just got my truck back yesterday. Similar setup. I never got a chance to drive the car without 4.88 but from what i can tell. It feels heavier, firmer, and badass. The nittos are quite the noise makers but im ok with it.20180808_184725.jpg 20180808_184734.jpg 20180808_184739.jpg
