..slo put together of supports for a partial platform enabling seating and dog spot, as well as permitting the dog to step up onto the eventual refrigerator cabinet and onto the sleep platform. this is third rework of the idea, and so far have not got it right. 100 watt solar panel flops across the windshield and controlled by a renogy rover, its currently unmounted on the back cab deck (no seats) wired and working. folding solar panel has a 30 foot tether if needed for best orientation while in camp.

I’d like to build some cabinets and get rid of my current drawer design. Anyone have experience with extruded aluminum?

And I was thinking about drawers, but figure I'm too tall for them to work well.

The drawers aren’t bad. After my last trip I found I would like to get away from my Rigid cases I use to pull in and out each time I set up. The cabinets would be nice to have everything where I want it and it stays there. The cabinet design would allow a walk area also. I can walk and have plenty of room to move stuff around inside now just thought I might try my hand at a different build.

Good idea to use the bed stiffener eyes to bolt to. Quite clever.

We should just pool together and convince someone to make one. I really don't need an industrial sewing machine. LOL. Looks like a great start. I want one for winter camp.

    Anyone been to glacier?
Staying at Many glacier campground for 4 days, should I flip the lid each day for the habitat or is it cool to just leave it up. Wondering about bears more than people. Fridge/freezer in the back with kitchen supplies in tote. Hoping to park it and set it up for a few days and not have to flip each day. Any thoughts?

My truck is fully loaded for our trip down to the Coos Bay, OR tonight. Including my wife's new (to her) Polaris ACE and my Teryx4. I need to get a picture of it all before we take off but it was pitch black by the time everything was loaded last night. Will definitely be taking some pics of the Habitat's first trip out on the sand, too.

And here I am... at work... watching the clock... only like 7 hours left, right?? Then only 7 more hours of driving and we'll be there!! I can do this... :)

So many awesome builds here including yours! I hoping to have one by next summer and retire the old RTT I have now.

SAVING?? Isn't that what credit cards are for?? I jest, of course. It'll definitely be worth the wait!

I've known people to get a loan through a credit union for this, treat it like a car payment. Looks like it works well enough.

My wife had just signed up for one of those cash back credit cards, and the special deal was if you spend 5k in the first two months (or in our case, down payment for Habitat) they give you 200$ on top of the cash back. So we ended up getting like close to 300 back, then paid off the CC :) We did have the money saved before hand, just worked out to put on CC.

..got this platform to fit today. clearance under to slide in the EAF boxes plus soft bundles/bags, and/or bottled water. the beach chair perfect for this planned app, much prefer being outside but sometimes too cold or dang gritty wind. next fit together reefer cab and bolt to platform. too hot in the thick new-normal california sky.

    IMG_0026.jpg

mocking up center support structure. will support back platform, support refrigerator cabinet, and will support portable step to facilitate stepping down from sleeping platform at night.
