    Very very sad.

Having an Eclectus parrot, I have become aware of how fragile avian species are. Seeing these creatures affected and helpless kills me.
I recommend buying Dawn liquid soap and filling out the donation labels as this enables free soap for such disasters.

Whatever! Are you serious? Let's try not to hurt their feelings too bad. It's our freaking livlihood dude. Why are you defending them when they knew the had so many problems and safety issues? Go ahead and keep buying your stock in them. As for me, I think not.

Or how about donating to the thousands of families that BP has already offered $5,000 to upfront if they agree NOT to seek leagal action. All these people are thinking about is saving face and their precious oil. They could really give a rat's ass about the people.

this is total bullshit. they should have had a few emergency back up plans in case something like this did happen.

for some reason i think i remember hearing that the russians use some kind of bomb when this happens to them and it has worked 6-7 times they have had to do this. why the fuck arent we doing it?
oh yeh, and are they utilizing straw? it soaked up the oil, they scoop up the oil soaked straw, dry it out and dispose of it.

i hope we get this under control soon and get people's daily live back to normal asap

Yea anyone can defend BP, but you dont know shit unless you live on or near the gulf coast. You can say whatever you want, cause you will never see oil. This is tragic, we arent the richest state and our little city depends on tourism. I also wanna pray for those 11 men who died

what i dont understand is, how you can you have a massive line like that ANYWHERE and not have some sort of shut off valve somewhere along the line in case something like this ever where to happen?

being a diver myself i can see the last statement is very true, but... their "confidence" is now resulting in this huge problem. they should have taken the extra time, made the pipes safe so that this kind of event wouldnt happen.

not trying to start an argument or anything. just saying

I am not sure about it being flimsy. the pressure i would think on the outside of the pipe is a lot more than the oil flowing through the inside. If anything it should be really stiff to allow the pressure of it being that far down to keep it from collapsing.
theres about 11123.8 psi at 25,000 ft on top of that piping. I have no idea how to calculate how much pressure is inside the pipe though.

yes.. and allow the countries that are offering to help us.. HELP US! he refused help from Russia that i know for sure and i think there were other countries that wanted to help.

apparently, russia has dealt with this problem before and was able to fix it easily 6/7 times.

Unless I am mistaken I think the oil is escaping at roughly 5000 psi and not 500 psi , which is almost hard to comprehend . Obviously this would add to the difficulty in capping the pipe .

I hope for all people and animals alike in the area , that the leak is stopped soon and the oil already released can be recovered / contained .

the amount of oil flowing out of that pipe is not even a drop in the bucket of US demand. The spill alone won't change the price of gas.

I heard this too.... But I heard it was a nuclear bomb that was exploded to seal the spill. You think BHO would go for that?
