Amazon says it wont fit my 2010 Tacoma, is that true ?

 

I may be doing all the ujoints also. Are the 5 the same part #? When I'll get my service Transit I'll do a complete refresh to the truck

 

Yes the carrier bearing will fit your truck. Also the u joints are different between front and back. The only difference being where the zerk fittings are. Rear has zerk fittings on the end cap. Front has it in the middle.

I've always called them tobaggens all my family from up N calls them beenies.

 

But there are some aftermarkets you can get for the rear that have the zerk in the middle as well so that it isn't low hanging fruit to be taken off.

 

Yeah Spicer makes one with zerk fittings in the middle. Zerk poking out of the cap isn’t even close to low hanging fruit though. No way in hell youre ripping that off haha and if you do, your driveshaft is probably fucked anyways.

Yeah that is what I was meaning, like, they are all the same size. Zerks at the end cap is easier to grease, but imo center zerks would distribute grease more equally through all 4 caps. But that aint no proven facts

 

I kicked a branch up that took one of mine off. It was like the perfect storm. Thankfully I have a little plano tackle organizer with spares.

 

It actually is with the way they run the grease orifices within the joint. Was curious one day at work and we cut the different designs apart to look. But it is very slight pretty negligible.

 

Yeah they’re all the same physical size, and you just choose if you want sealed, or where you want the zerk fitting. I’m now inadvertently running sealed u joints on my back driveshaft.

Naw when I said low hanging fruit I meant by debris like this a rock like your thinking yeah your drive shaft is fucked at that point.

yeah remember that. I should order greaseable, then tell then I wanted sealed so they refund me a part i prefer greaseable tho, don't know why, i know sealed is good too

 

I never trust Amazons fitment thing! I always just find the correct part number on another site and use amazon for purchasing only. The only possible thing I could think of is if 4cyl is different, but I don’t think that’s the case.

 

NAhh they are as tough as a V6, if not even more!

 

I think I’ve mentioned it before but I wouldn’t mind trading my V6 for the I4 and a 5 speed! They’re little tanks.

 

I agree! Haha would gear it 4.88 and have it unstoppable!
