Sorry i couldnt find the answer but does adding the steel tailgate plate make the tailgate not lower slowly anymore ? Stupid question but would like to know

 

Got your bed bars, hi-lift adaptor, and front recovery bar already, I shouldn't be subscribing to this thread.

 

You're adding ~22 lbs to the tailgate so I'd assume it would drop much quicker than the stock plastic, but you should still have some damper to it. 2nd gens don't get that luxury so it's already like thor's hammer dropping everytime you decide to let it fall lol

 

It’ll speed up the fall slightly but not entirely.
