Yes there is some houses and a big pull off about 1/4-1/2 Mile up the trail, we will air down and regroup at that spot.
All the hairy, technical, over landing stuff is after that point.

The trick is going to be having everyone put on their flashers and slow down to about 35-40 around mile marker 8.5 but we have a big group so we should be able to slow down other traffic enough for everyone to make the turn.

Yea as long as you hop on the shoulder half a mile early you’re good. I’ve got a CB so I can let any trucks know that might be behind us.

Just trying to get my bearings on where you guys are meeting. Your talking about Waynesville south of junaluska correct?
Then your heading back north up to 40 from there?

Its not magazine worthy but took a trip up the parkway the other night since it wasn't raining for once. This is at John Rock overlook close to Graveyard Fields! Also i'm itching to sell the 2015 and get a 1st gen again.. just a random thought for the day.

    Happy Friday TacoWorld

Yep, you’ll exit into Waynesville and the Ingles will be on your left. Then heading north up to 40. Once you’re on 40 it’s about 20 miles west before you make the butt puckering turn off the interstate onto a dirt road

If I come, I won't be going into Waynesville.
25/26 north into Asheville then 40 west.

For all going tomorrow- that have not done so before: Due to recent storms, expect at least one water crossing that is near headlight deep- in swift moving water. There are other hub deep crossings as well. I recall a muddy spot that was about skid plate deep or so.

Also, if there there is a closed gate about mid point on the trail- the alternate route has at least one large rock outcropping that is off camber and slick. This route (if the gate is closed) tends to the SOUTH; pops out on/near hwy 209.
Enjoy! It's a nice little run! :burnrubber:

@EricL do you have the pics of the water crossings?? or the videos? Can't find mine!

That’s the only way I’ve ever been down hurricane. Never seen the water crossings that high though.

Found the pic with the deepest water we encountered:
    F896CE34-558F-432E-9770-5F3704E7D6CB.jpg

Other crossings were hub/fog light deep.

Edit: This is @EricL with stock suspension.

A little off camber too. Water was moving right to left in this pic though.
    9D5DF3D9-9619-4105-87EE-7613D8E80BED.jpg
Someone has made a slight dam to the left to help slow the water, as it drops down. Don’t go that way.

Over all the majority of the trail is easy. To be on the safe side- just wanted to share what I experienced in the past there. Wish I could go tomorrow!

I have the video at home, I think. Will be a while before I get back to Greenwood, though.
