Technically, I've been waiting nearly three years. Oh and I'm not what you'd call a "fanboi" lol.

WRT to warranty, straight from 0058-18 TSB:

    APPLICABLE WARRANTY

This repair is covered under the Toyota Federal Emission Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 96 months or 80,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s in-service date.

Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in this bulletin.

I've received the files, it is legitimately a different calibration.

at least for 2018 at the moment.
Once I get the CUW files converted to BIN I will know everything

Well you can kinda guess by your build date, or use a scan tool to verify. Personally I'd wait.

    Thanks for verifying Mat.

Now all we need is someone with 04B12 to do the same thing.

I'm curious if you can make any improvements. The software is so good that anything you can do would be icing on the cake.

How's the throttle response? Crazy lag and inconsistency was my main complaint on the previous OEM calibration.

I'll be more objective on my ride to work this morning. I only have about 20 miles on the new software but the truck behaves "normal" which it never did from new.

It can be improved :). Toyota changes things to make it more responsive, but they don't add any power.

I'm tempted to give it a shot, with 3,500 miles coming up in the next two weeks of driving 87 octane seems a lot more reasonable than my current 91 OVTune (I know I could flash the 87 OVTune). I doubt my dealer would be willing to do this without acting like I'm crazy, is the CUW file for 04B12 available on here?

CUW file may contain 04B12 to 04B13 update, I don't know for sure - and I've never used Techstream to flash a Toyota update (only log for OVtune). Anyway here's the relevant page from 0058-18:

    TSB.jpg

@ToyoVL , can you help @mkivr32 out with a CUW file for 0058-18?

Question... I’m already at 38,000 miles on my 17’. If a TSB drops in the next week or so, will I still be covered, or am I out of warranty already? Thought powertrain was 60k?

If it is the same TSB as 0058-18, that's the warranty coverage.

I got an appointment @2pm today... the service area had not heard of this yet but I showed them this thread. They didn't promise anything but they're going to give it a shot!

    I will update later.

That's excellent. Can't wait to hear what you think if it all goes well.

I'm still using Rodland, where I bought mine. They were good during the purchase and for the 5k service. If they balk at this for the 10k, then at least there's a back up close to home.

get it documented before your warranty is up and you won't have an issue getting it addressed when the time comes.

    1. You need a Tactrix and cable (which you can either purchase from Tactrix or it came with most of the tune kits from OVTune) or one of those cheap cables from Ebay but that seems kinda hit and miss
    2. You need to install Techstream. Any version will work, some searching will find you a version many have used on here with success.
    3. Download the CUW files (can find them by searching on the forum for your specific truck).
    4. Connect Tactrix and cable to truck/windows laptop (which should have Techstream installed and have the CUW file for the new ECU version).
    5. Run the CUW file (it is an executable install package, but you have to have Techstream installed in order to open the file though it doesn't have to actually be open when you run the file)

From there just follow the onscreen prompts while you have everything connected + truck ignition to ON (just like flashing a tune to the truck).

The process is wicked simple to update yourself if you have the hardware and software needed which any tune owner does at this point...

As far as I can guess it seems that it'll either install or won't depending on your ECU model so if your ECU ID not supported it won't install so you can't brick the ECU but I've never actually done the process so I can't say for certain.
I also believe that since Matt isn't supporting this ECU version as of right now, if you do flash to the updated calibration ID you will not be able to restore your OVtune until Matt gets the supported version released. He did say it's on his to do list so I's guess that would be around the 1.05 release
