Took my 18 in this morning and had them flash the TSB 0062-18. They did it. The paperwork says they REPROGAMMED ECM EG1811. I assume that is the same thing as TSB 0062-18? Can anyone verify this?

BTW - they didn't put any sticker under the hood...just lazy?

I am new to this forum, I called and asked about the tsb-0062-18 for my 2018 DB TRD OR Auto and was told that there is no such thing and I have to bring in the truck and pay $149 for them do do a diagnoisis.
    Truck only has 2200 miles.

Is this Elk Grove Toyota Dealer for reals? Did you all have to pay to get this done?

What a load. Go to another Dealer
Or better yet go down there and talk to the Service Manager and tell them that the Driveability now is Dangerous. Still amazed that some Dealers are acting like this. It's a problem that can be easily remedied.

I was on that same freeway where the lag almost caused a wreck last week, and my truck plowed across those lanes with no problem! It is dangerous! I wonder how long it will take toyota to understand that.

Shaan, you might need to educate your dealership. Take the document posted early on in the thread to them, let them do their research and then tell them to do it. If that doesn't work, find a new dealership. Do you have any Autonation Toyota service centers near you? People in this region seem to be having good luck with them, probably because they are a large chain. I would not pay to have them diagnose.

Thanks for this post! Mine is also a late June delivery with about 2,600 miles on it. I've scheduled an appointment for 16AUG, 7am, at Escondido Toyota. The gal that took the call had no clue what I was talking about and kept confusing the TSB with a recall. Once she talked to her service manager supervisor, she got it, but advised that the dealership submits recalls and TSBs to Toyota Corporate under the same warranty process for the dealership to get paid. We'll see if I get any push back next week.

Call Toyota Regional for support. From reading this thread and the forum overall, Toyota corporate knows about the issue and so does the regional offices, so they'll push on the dealerships to get it done.

Thanks for the reference to Mossy Toyota. If I get any hassle from Escondido and my salesman isn't able to help, then off to Mossy I go.

Ha ha - I referenced a trip to Big Bear when I scheduled with Escondido Toyota.

Thanks OP! Holy moly, what a difference. I knew about this issue when i bought my truck as my 5 fellow coworkers own 3rd Gen Tacomas. I was content on learning to just deal with this trans. Took it in, explained that I had experienced this Stumble at Higher elevations and have not been able able to replicate it at lower elevations. Mentioned i was planning another trip to the local mountains and was hoping they could take care of this. 1 hour later, i'm home and the drive home felt like i was driving a completely different truck...man so happy.
Now to pass this on to my coworkers.
    Thanks TW

Wrote this in the other thread, but wanted to put my experience here as well:

Okay, so my dealer gave me zero pushback. None at all. The reason it took so long was due to them being behind and the tech checking for updates for other issues (rear diff howl, 2 to 1 clunk, etc). Guess this tech has worked on my truck the past 3 or 4 times and is really trying to help me out.

Separate story: I sat down with shop manager and shop foreman to talk about the rear diff howl. I mentioned I did the howl TSB myself when the manager brought it up (he knows me and my issues very well now ha). As soon as I said that the manger perked up and asked me to come back to the shop. He wanted me to let the shop foreman and tech know what I did and what theresults were. They said they wanted to know so they could tell their field tech that the howl TSB also helps non TRD Tacoma’s. I thought that was cool. More people bitching to Toyota about that the better.

Now on to 0062-18: My drive home was 3.5miles of some flat and some pretty steep but not too long of hills. Not a long test drive unfortunately. However, the first thing I noticed as soon as I left the dealer lot was how smooth my truck shifted. Holy crap you almost can’t even feel it shift at times now. Before it would jerk you into each and every upshift. Now I only feel the upshift under harder throttle. It’s a big difference for me. Noticed it practically from the first time it shifted 2-3.

Next thing I noticed was when I was going up one of the hills. Now, the hill was probably only a few hundred feet tall but it’s fairly steep. What caught me off guard was my rpms. They were at 2k. Normally I hit this hill at 1100rpms, make it quarter way up, lug like crazy, push foot deeper into pedal, truck then decides to down shift 2 gears, and then you take off like an idiot that doesn't know how to drive. Not this time. It must have down shifted as soon as I hit the hill and held it all the way until I almost crested. Then it shifted once on top. I know i was doing 45mph at around 1100rpms up until I hit the hill. I didn't even notice or feel my truck shift down. It’s that smooth now. It also shifted right when it needed to. At the beginning of the hill and not a quarter way into the hill with the pedal halfway to the floor lol

One thing i noticed is you can still feel the downshifts. Maybe more so now than before. It also downshifted and held 2k rpms going down the back side of the steep hill. Maybe the made the engine braking more aggressive? Not exactly sure on that yet.

Sorry for the long reply. That’s what I learned from my short drive home.

So did I get it? I can’t tell by reading this print out. My drive home was short and flat, but it felt somewhat quicker.

Looks like you got the old transmission TSB to me. T-SB-0077-16. I could be wrong. Someone else will chime in.

I was hoping it meant I upgraded to 0062-18 from 0077-16. Dammit, I handed my service advisor a Post-it note "Give me TSB-0062-18".

Ask to have it done at your 5000 mile service. No way should you pay a diagnostic fee. I was off my 36K mile warranty and was told I would have to pay a $125 diagnostic fee if it was not the symptoms of the TSB. I was prepared to call the credit card company to dispute the charge, but the dealer did the right thing and Flashed the new ECU update for free. If you have problems beyond that, be prepared to call TOYOTA Corporate HQ to escalate the case.

    Toyota Corporate Phone...
    ‭(800) 331-4331‬

I only drove 20-miles in bumper to bumper traffic, so I can’t comment on the results from TSB-0058-18 yet.

I got the same on my ticket and called the next day to question it. I was told that the tech did flash the newest version because the system won’t let them use the old one since a new one is available and that the service adviser just type the wrong one on my ticket.

So a couple posters in this, or one of the many associated threads, mentioned you could pull up your current calibration ID # using the Carista OBD2 gadget and associated app. $20 bucks well spent to move some things around, but I'm not finding any way to pull up technical data using the Carista product.

    Any input on this?
