Howdy guys new here. I’m trying to find a good led/ hid kit for my 2005 taco. I keep seeing these retro fit things and bad reviews on other assemblies and I want something to make my truck shine out more. Any ideas to help? Links and pics would really help

You really shouldn't run led or hid without proper housing that's made for them.
Google search tacomaworld.Com diy retrofit lights or buy from a reputable vendor.
Everything you need to know is here...just gotta take the time to search what you are looking for.

Yeah Ive been trying to for awhile now just don’t know exactly what to get cause I see mixed reviews and I’ve just found out about the retrofit stuff. I see spyder isn’t really good and I wanted something that I know would work and wouldn’t have to worry about. Thanks for the help

Really depends on what you want (looks..better lighting..both)
And how much you can spend.
For better lighting in stock housing you can't beat the write up linked by @TheFang above.

I wouldn't waste my money on cheap hid housings.
If money was no object...I'd buy retrofitted oem headlights with hid and halo or demon eyes by a trusted vendor here on tacomaworld.
If I wanted the look but didn't have all the cash... I'd retrofit myself following one of Tacomaworld's diy step by step write ups
(by google searching "tacomaworld.com diy retrofit or how to retrofit hid")

I consider myself pretty handy when it comes to most things. But retrofit HIDs were a nightmare. It required me to cut and customize my stock housings, and to level the HIDs required me to assemble and disassemble the headlights multiple times on top of installing and taking them out of my truck. After getting them all good to go, the ballasts were garbage and my drivers side light would randomly cut out for no reason. I have returned to full stock housings and installed the better bulbs listed in the link I posted
