Used the search and found this. Lifted on foxes. Would like to stay on 16's . This seem to be the best backspacing? Whether I go pizza cutters or 285 I'm hacking anyways.

I know people that rub on 265s while driving street. They’re aggressive, but it happens.

285s will rub, period. You may not notice it at first, but it will happen (very quickly if you wheel). Be prepared to cut more than you anticipated, but also be prepared for the braces you’ll need from smiling so hard.

Right. Not worrie about the hacking and rubbing. Just trying to find the most sensible backspacing for a third gen with these f5s

I stuff my 265/75/16s all the time haha

What tires? Mine are fairly quaint with a less-than-provocative sidewall, but a wider wheel set will definitely cause more rubbing.

It’s primitive, but this helps understanding why wider wheels cause rub.

I have duratracs in c load. They just grind at full lock in rev. I guess the solution to that is just picking the right line the first time. Haha

Yeah, what I'm really trying to get at is at 285 I'm not worried about rubbing. Im more so wondering between the 3.5 and 4.5 Bs if there's a noticable difference in real world usable range, or just say eff it and go bad ass. Essentially is it a huge handicap or just eh

You will rub with more BS, for sure. Your truck will look better doing it, though

I vote do it and don’t turn back. It’s what I’ve laid out for my truck because my “plans” don’t change. Do it and figure it out as you go because you’ll either regret not doing it or regret not doing it.

A well weathered local (trail leader at most events) has been hounding me about buying my 3.5 BS to fit his reservoirs without rubbing. Get the 3.5 BS, cut your truck, and grin from ear to ear

You almost had me sold on some ridge grapplers but I’m sticking to my guns and going mainstream. 285/70/17 ko2’s. I have them in 275 on my current setup and really like them. Also, not sure why the gun metal isn’t more popular. So much sex appeal.

Right on, I highly recommend giving the ridge Grapps a try!!!

I think the gunmetal is such a classy finish.

HAHAHA. I already did a CMC and now I have to do a more aggressive one. And FWIW.... You really inspired me to go 17x9 in F5's
