TRD Pro grille scam? eBay

has anybody ever gotten scammed on eBay for a TRD Pro grille?

Recently purchased one, tried viewing the ad and it’s gone..
I do have a tracking number and it has shipped but I’m just curious why it’s gone. I had interest in a different ad as well through a different seller and I tried looking it up through an email I got and it’s also gone. Do these sellers quickly delete their ads to avoid issues with selling fakes of the TRD Pro grille or are they scamming? I paid $75 for it with a 15% coupon so I guess I shall see what shows up in the mail next week.

 

I had a similar experience order one from ebay. But then the seller came back after a while.

I got my grille, no broken tabs or anything.

 

Hoping this is the case. I’m super stoked to install it but I’m also skeptical about it due to the odd behavior.

This same exact thing happened to me this week, I was trying to track the shipment and I couldn’t find the ad anymore, I was like WTF !!....but I received the grill 5 days after I ordered it in perfect condition

 

What the hell. This literally just happened to me too. I literally have been fighting with the seller. Its been two weeks and I haven't received anything. First, they said they shipped to some other location. They said they would send me a replacement. I waited another week. Nothing. I finally opened up a case with ebay and they kept pushing for me to wait. They finally refunded my money last night.

Something definitely doesn't sound right.

 

When you are ordering make sure to look at the bottom of the add to see where the item is being shipped from.

 

depends on where its being shipped from. If it's from China expect no less than a few weeks.

 

Yeah it was weird because originally my tracking info said I would receive it on 8/29, then the ad said “removed” on my recent purchases, Then somehow I clicked on something that showed me the package was in the states coming from China still said 8/29 arrival...2 days later it showed up at my house. (5 days total shipping time coming from China)

I thought for sure I have been scammed since I only paid $78 for it.

 

It is being shipped from Los Angeles in California. Only reason I had more faith in ordering it. The tracking info says it was accepted into a USPS facility yesterday in LA. So I’m hoping this is just some odd but legit business!

 

Good to know I’m not the only one though. I can use this as ammo with eBay if need be.

 

I think the sellers are covering their tracks to avoid any repercussion for selling fake grilles.

 

You're probably right. My seller stated the item was located in Chico (los angeles) and would be guaranteed by August 3. I'm in California too so I was hopeful it would have gotten to me sooner. Then the tracking said it was going to Miami and eventually the posting was pulled. I didn't want to deal with them so I'm glad i got my refund back.

I personally would recommend to work with freshmexicantacos on here. I ordered my grill from him instead and everyone is happy with theirs.

Does anyone know what the middle piece of the grille is called? Looks like I got screwed. I only got the grille itself without the middle portion. The seller deleted the ad long ago and the item number is not valid when I try to contact them about it. I had to select that my message wasn’t about an item to send them a message. I will try to see if I can get my money back but I have been screwed over by eBay before so I’m preparing for that.

Nope it said that it was included, but now that the ad is deleted I have no way of proving it

 

That's ridiculous! Were there reviews for the seller and/or product?

Try Amazon. I got my Chinese grill from there and there were photos and reviews confirming it's the one I wanted.

 

Damn, that really sucks. Definitely try and report to ebay nonetheless. Doesn't hurt to raise a case at least. Reach out to the buyers too. If they have pretty good feedback, they should be willing to respond.

It's been over 3 weeks now and I still haven't received my grill from the Chinese seller. I threatened the sellers that I would take the case to ebay and they refunded my money last week.

 

File a dispute. eBay can easily pull up the history of the auction, including all revisions.
