I think you could just leave them in and work around it so to speak......I wanna say there is a guy or 2 that has gone from UCON to ovtune.

 

I will switch from UCON to OVTune when he has a base tune for a 61lb injectors, 2.5 pulley and no cats.

Waiting patiently.

 

I am sad he moved away. I was going to buy the bigger injectors for the smaller pulley and boom he moved across the country.

 

Would you remove the UCON or can you disable it and leave in place? Would be nice to retain the Guardian feature.

Yeah the 2.85 pulley just won’t cut it in the thin air

 

You can run a 2.7 with the stock sc injectors you just have to be a little careful at low altitude.
I did a wot run with ucon and 2.7 at approximately 1000ft elevation and 80° temp. Injectors were 93.4% which is more than ideal but at altitude you'll be fine.
Just remember not to race at low altitude.

 

Unless you're using copious amounts of other fuels

 

Put an inline drain in the s/c hose today. Serves as a quick drain or for system flushing. Side note, I'm impressed the stock coolant is relatively mild. That is if you accidentally get it in your eyes.... I've heard.

 

Currently running distilled water and redline water wetter. I'll do an estimate to see how much lower temps are. With this drain I can swap coolant when I have more time for accurate testing. Or make a 5min swap to glycol in the freezing months.

 

Not that everything printed is accurate but I've had luck with this in the past. Even if it changed half of advertising #s that might be huge for those triple digit days.

 

Remember not to race when I have the most power available? I better stick to the 2.825 cause I so love to get into the boost when it is available. Although if I did the pulley boys and got a 2.7 and a 2.8 and just swapped them before a road trip to lower elevation I could make the best of it at all times.

 

And on a great note, I am super super super impressed with the Ucon and the way it runs the truck. The difference while toying alone is insane. But all around I can not believe how smooth the power is. It is crazy how smooth it is and how much more is there. I put about 400 miles on the truck this weekend, 50 towing and the rest just driving and checking out new places to camp and testing the truck out to see how much better it runs in different circumstances. I have gained about 4mpg while towing a heavier camper(new one is heavier than the old one by alot) and doing the normal 70mph I am up 2.5mpg and if I slow to 65 I can get it up to 4mpg better. Now all of this is with the smaller 285/75R16's MT/R's. When I put the taller 285/75R17 BFG KO2's on I will drop the rpm's by 300 at the same speed or get another 5-6mph and keep the same rpm as the shorter tires. So I will hopefully be able to muster 16-17 mpg at 70mph with the taller tires. Kinda makes me want to go to 35's already. If only there were more 35x10.50 options.
