Quick question. If my driveway is angled down a little, is it safe to put the truck up on jack stands still? It’s maybe 6-9” lower at the street vs the garage door.

Is it safe, not really. On a incline the jack stands arent as stable putting the weight on the downhill side. Is it doable, Yes. I do it in my driveway, front end only, which is sounds steeper than yours when I have to. I make sure to chalk the back tires well. I wouldnt lift the whole truck onto jacks unless it was level though.

Got it. And that makes sense now that you say it. thanks for the quick reply. Maybe ill look into some ramps instead. I could put them on the downhill side and park the trucks front end on them. Should give me plenty of room under for oil changes and skid maintenance without being tippy.

For oil changes I dont even jack my truck up. I added a fumoto valve and just slide under, its plenty tall for the short time I need to get under to attach the drain hose and flip the switch.

Word! I know ive got the clearance too, maybe ill just give it a go.

What about changing the oils and the truck being on a slight decline... is that an issue as well? Sorry for the silly questions, but i want to make sure im all good before i start draining liquids from the truck lol

Overall nothing I would worry about. As long as the front is higher than the back so the oil is pushed towards the drain plug. Even if it all doesnt get all the oil drained your still replacing 99% of it. Plenty of people have been using ramps for a very long time that raise the front 8" or so for oil changes.

I like it as well. If you decrease the gap between the helicopter and the letters in Air, it would be a little more compact. Looks great tho!

I have always done my own maintenance since I was 16. I did let toyota do my 2 free oil changes but checked my oil levels before leaving both times. I dont trust shops that under pay there employees and dont view my truck or care about the quality of work as highly as I do. I've only used shops when it was way beyond my grasp to handle or required tools that cost way too much to invest in for the limited use it would ever see. Being able to rent tools from auto stores has been a good way to take on more tasks that I dont want to spend $100 or more for a tool I only plan on using 1 time every few years.

A slight angle won't have a negative effect of any real substance. Let the oil drain for half a hour and whatever miniscule amount is left will be greatly diluted with fresh oil.

My driveway sounds to be very similar to yours. I have enough room in the garage to pull the truck in, but to have room to work at the end of the truck that's inside the garage, the opposite end is on the driveway, so there is some slight decline.

To chock the wheels, I use these heavy duty industrial wheel chocks. They're expensive but they'll stop an aircraft. I have four simply for contingency.

    I like it!!
