Yeah that’s precisely why an 06 RUBICON is worth more than any 07 non rubicon. That’s just how it goes. People don’t really want first year JKs.

You have already had someone else come on here and tell you that they sale for that much and I'm only going by what I see them sell for. Like I said before mine is in a lot better shape than his was and mine is modified more. I can understand why you are upset after not getting what yours where worth when you sold them.

Dude I am a dealer, I don’t give a shit lol. You’re just gonna be upset when yours is for sale forever because it’s grossly overpriced.

Last jeep I sold took 2 weeks to sale and I don't think this one will take very long. I going to keep it for one more year because I'm not ready to sale it quit yet and I have a customized trailer I put my tent, chairs and small grill in for tailgating (I have a son playing college football). If I can't get more than $16000 for it I'll just keep it but hopefully I can get what I think its worth and get me Tacoma.

Indeed it was horrible. I did one road trip (about 1400 miles round trip in my '12 wrangler unlimited), never did it again, plus there was no lower lumbar support in the drivers seat, felt like a 90 year old man every time I stopped to get gas. Also, after that trip, i replaced the hood latches with much stronger latches. Those rubber pieces of crap sucked and that hood was bouncing up and down like it was pacman.

I traded my 2016 Wrangler Willy’s edition in for my 2018 Tacoma.

I bought my Wrangler new. Fun car for a while but the when the novelty wears off you’re left with a really impractical vehicle (I had the 2 door). Zero interior features. Drives like a shoe box. Terrible gas mileage. Impossible to keep steady on the highway. No storage. Etc etc.

Even with all that the reason I traded it in was the 6 visits to the dealership in less than 3 years of ownership.

First issue was the I would be driving and all of the sudden the brakes would automatically be applied. Literally driving down the street going anywhere from 30-60mph and the car would come to a screeching hault. It was scary. Took it in and they said it was a bad tire sensor. I didn’t believe it at first but that did fix it.

Next—the ignition just wouldn’t turn when I put the key in. It would take anwhere from 3-7 tires of turning the key to get the car to come on. Mind you this is a new Jeep with less than 5k Miles. Took it to the dealership 3 times for this issue. Never solved. Of course it would never happen when I was at the service dept.

Finally—the tailgate handle for the back door literally just fell off when I went to open the door. Not a huge deal but at that point I told my wife it’s done and that I’m going to get a 4Runner or Tacoma and never buy a Chrysler/fiat again.

I think a Jeep would be an ideal weekend vehicle. As a DD no way. It’s frustrating they can’t make them with better quality though because they’re really fun vehicles. They’re stupid expensive for what you actually get. The resale is great though.

When I hear people complain about how the Tacoma drives or feels inside I kind of chuckle because coming from the Jeep to a Tacoma I feel like I’m in a 60k luxury truck.

Not sure I am replying right but I had a question about my 2015 jku. Yes it had two issues. From day one I smelled anrifreeze. Finally looked at it really close and the tank and fin area had a small leak. Factory defect replaced under warranty. Also had gasket leaking in rear diff which was fixed under warranty.

I bought a 15 Rubicon and loved it! I had small issues with it like water leaks into the drivers side floor. But my Tacoma has issues too. About the same I would say in that department. I thought the Jeep drove nice and was perfect for trips! But I needed a truck and got the Tacoma again. Though I’m very interested in seeing the new Jeep truck. I’d be awfully tempted to trade in the Tacoma for one!

Make sure you love the service department because you’ll be spending the majority of your weekends there.

I had a 2013 JKUR auto that was a good vehicle, sold it after 70k miles for about what I paid. I did have AEV front & rear bumpers & wheels, all purchased used, and Metal Cloak lift (friends a dealer), so maybe a total of 8k in extras. At the dealers twice, broken shock and a recall, I also had an overheating and antifreeze smell problem climbing the mountains, but a flush took care of that. It was a good Jeep, would go anywhere, but I didn’t like the seat after about 6-7 hours of driving, to me it’s not a comfort vehicle for long distance driving and the climate control suck in really cold weather. I really like my JKUR, but it’s just not for me and The type of traveling & off road I do now.
In a couple of years I will be back in a Tacoma, I hope the seats are as good as my past Tacoma’s and pickups, plus I can use the carrying room of the bed

My 2014 had the following issues in about 40,000 miles, lost all confidence in the thing and always felt like it was going to leave me abandoned somewhere.

    New Rear differential (LSD)
    Radiator replaced
    Clock spring failure
    Both front wheel bearings shot
    Front and rear differential seals
    Cracked oil filter housing
Leaked all the time, after a solid rain there would be an inch of water on the floor.

I'll never consider one for the simple fact that the side crash protection sucks.
